I think the best approach is to diversify some parts of your portfolio in these various instruments including physical businesses. Suppose that Zenith woman when oga Ema mention yesterday non invest for shares, maybe she for non get the billions dividends when she get today so. Which one be supposed sef, afterall, she probably wasn't the only one employed at that time, so if the others who did not do similar investment do not have that amount, then one can argue that it may look unreasonable at the beginning but 20 years later is when the real results will come out, God sparing our lives. ahiboilandgas: |

ojesymsym:we should not go that route nah .....am just looking at how the 53.percent of Gtb can affect the ordinary investor or how to make info choice based on past ,present and future earnings.....example if Gtb is returing 10 percent annually for 10 years and the share is appreciating by 3 percent yearly over 10 years...we input that data and get the real return after 10 year ...add everthing including inflations ,devalution etc then compare with other investment class like fixed income ....then u make your decision based on verifiable data and not luck |

emmanuelewumi: I didnt raise the issue of watching what would be posted here (someone else did). I merely responded to the post by saying though the person feels we should watch what we post here, it is not enough reason for us to hoard infomation because a large number of people benefit from what is being posted here. 1 Like |

Very valid point. Sometimes we forget that these persons are real human beings with family members, friends and associates and not just a name. It is really tough being a successful woman, there is always suspicion everywhere even when there is no proof of misdemeanor. Biafran4life: 3 Likes |

ahiboilandgas: Don't forget that the dividend paid by GTB is less than 50% of the profit made, the remaining is reinvested back into the business. That is why their earnings are growing back to back at a double digits rate |

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by emmanuelewumi(m): 4:28pm On Apr 09, 2021 |
ahiboilandgas: It is the internal rate of returns from the business that made those who earned dividends of N1 million about 12 years ago from Zenith bank to start earning dividends of N4 million from the same Investment without adding a kobo to the initial investment made 12 years ago Or those who earned N1 million dividend from Okomu Oil about 20 years ago to now earn N35 million from the same Investment in 2021 with adding a kobo to the initial investment. Share price won't show this, it is the profitablity, earning growing, efficiency and inherent value in the business |

emmanuelewumi:ok how much was invested in okomu oil to get the 1m dividen? and zenith |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by emmanuelewumi(m): 4:37pm On Apr 09, 2021 |
ahiboilandgas: N10 million for Okomu, due to bonus of 1 for 1 and a bonus of 1 for 4. The 2 million units grew to 5 million units valued at N450 million in 2021. Trying to get the capitalisation history of Zenith Bank for the bonuses issued in the last 12 years, but dividend per share for Zenith grew from 70k to N2.80k in 2020 and N3.00 in 2021 |

emmanuelewumi:am cleared now ....let me compare....in year 2001 a plot in my area was 500k so 10m can buy 20 units now sold at 17m each x 20 =340m ....so if i fix the 340m in bond @12.5m I will be making 42m every year against 35m from okumu oil ....7m differ......but okumu oil has been paying dividen for 20 years while my plot are just here with zero generation .......hmm I rather have the okumu oil shares 5 Likes |

ahiboilandgas: Did you consider the dividend earned in the last 20 years. The investment paid a total dividend of about N100 million in the last four years. The managers and core investors are Belgians and South African, they really understand the business Government needs to open up more sectors of the economy I was surprised when I saw the list of companies that buy palm oil from Presco. They include Unilever, PZ, Oriental Hotel, Fan Milk, Promasidor, Friesland wamco, Ok foods, Indomie, Flour Mills, Dangote Industries, Cosmetic companies etc. Thereby making billions of naira from Palm Oil plantations 7 Likes 1 Share |

ahiboilandgas: If you were in SMN then, you would have bought Okomu. Many posts then were somehow begging people to buy Okomu but many people did not anticipate that Okomu will grow like this. Btw, i was a beneficiary of First Bank 1 for 1 bonus. 1 Like |
