You can say it again sis. Those Mr I too know thinks hiding properties and money will make them more wealthier. They prefer to use the money to carry ashawo, spend money on girls as they want, help their own family members etc. Eventually, any day the woman sees the wealth, she will quietly poison him. Be open to your wife and she will be the one over protecting the money self
wait, how do you even marry such a woman? You men are funny o shocked

it seems Global oil price is nosediving...treasury bills rate are expected to increase, Naira is expected to fall and CBN might have a turbulent time defending the naira. Black market sources said USD has started increasing..Is this the best time to take the FX risk Advice oooo

I wonder o. I guess the men on this thread need premarital counselling. Because I can't even conceive it that somewhere in my husband's mind, there is the thought that i can kill or poison him to inherit his money. He knows the woman he marroed too well to even entertain the thought.

You men should KNOW the women you are marrying before marrying them !!!

Nobody is saying a wife is going to kill her husband to inherit estate or assets.

Why most men try to hide their financial worth from their wives is because of the way that most women are wired. Sorry to say this, some women don't think straight like the men. They think about the now (non-strategic) while men think about the future (strategic). Once some women discover that you have gotten some interest from Tbills, for instance, she would start making ridiculous demands and expect the man to honor such demands.

Then, the man will be in a tight corner because he already let her know that he has some money in stock

I heard these three countries; America, Russia and Saudi Arabia produce more barrels per day than other OPEC countries combined.

Does it mean these 3 countries now control crude prices? What are the implications on the Nigerian economy going forward? T.bills nko?

if the 15% will not change every other year, you will have your principal doubled.

Tbill rates won't be the problem here, as it could get higher to attract foreign investors and hence more FX. But this means more inflation and more pressure on the buying power of the naira since majority of the country's income is from crude oil. This could also mean less dollars for CBN to use to save the naira. All in all, my advice is to hedge against it.

Many people talked about timing the market, my advice don't! Why not always split how much you put in Tbills and how much you put in Forex or USD? Slowly and gradually? To avoid a huge risk on both sides?

Also a way to earn Forex in GBP, EUR or GBP will be helpful.

That's my 1 kobo on this. Remember do not rush and throw large sums in USD or Something. Look at the long term, not the now. You are trying to preserve your buying power or make it better.

Pls how do you calculate compound interest?
1ST YEAR= 15% of 1,000,000=150,000
Then Principal + Interest=1,000000 + 150,000=1,150000

2ND YEAR= 15% of 1,150,000=172,500
1,150,000 + 172,000=1,322,500

3RD YEAR=15% of 1,322,500=198,375
1,322,500 + 198,375=1,520,875

4TH YEAR=15% of 1,520,875=228,131.25
1,520,875 + 228,131.25=1,749,006.25

5TH YEAR= 15% of 1,749,006.25=262,350.94
1,749,006.25 + 262,350.94=2,011,357.19

* Note, you will still face the "residual value" of Bank charges according to its lead-time..

Sir,if you are given a simple question on Compound interest......the above is what you should indicate....and you are not expected to go any further...
What you are indicating is called "True Yield".
True Yield is your actual return on investment..
Your yield becomes even higher if you reinvest your upfront interest instead of consuming it..
Divide the tenor you invested by days 365...that is your true yield..
You are investing your upfront interest to its lowest ends....
But it's not need here..
Thanks.

You just said my mind! The other poster that is contemplating whether to sell his property and invest in TBills and the insinuations some people made about TBill offering a better prospect made me consider my own situation and I discovered that property investment is better. In my own case, I bought a land @ 1.2 million in 2013 I.e 5 years ago and with sundry expenses like agent fee, ego omenala (tradition money) and power of attorney, everything amounted to around 1.5 million. Today, the market value of that same piece of undeveloped land is 3 million and I just leased it to a small branch of RCCG church to be paying 60k annually. So, if I had been investing in Treasury Bills since the past five years at say 14% interest rate, the maximum I could have gotten probably won't have exceeded 700k plus capital 1.5m which together is still significantly less than the 3m. So, I guess TBills is a great investment but property is better.

A tbill investor at 14% for 1.5m for those 5 years is better than you by far.

The true yield for each year is roughly 250k
If you add compounding it will be above your paltry 3m.

Again, the tbill investor has liquidity. He can terminate today and get his money in few hours and use for emergency.

You can put the land for sale without getting a buyer for 1 year.

Most importantly, the capital of the tbill investor most times is guaranteed because of no risks.

Did it occur you that you could have bought an encumbered land?
Could have been swindled by "boys" who would sell land with bad title to you?

Could have been going to court fighting ownership of same land and even police case?

Nawao.

If a woman decides to have her own money now, inferiority complex will make u complain of her not being submissive, so why not make the money for the both and allow her submit to u.

Many atimes, men who complain that women are not submissive hav lesser wealth compared to the woman wealth. Experience has taught me that the moment a woman starts making money of her own, the man, all of a sudden will start complaining that she is not respectful.
The man is not merely complaining that the woman is direspectful. Chances are now that the woman is actually disrespectful. Only few women can handle such wealth.

Have you checked why most m

Learn the concept of hypergamy.

Men do it too. An average humble man will ne haughty if he suddenly makes money.
