@kobojunkie ACN led govt conducted lagos local govt elections last year and they won with a clean sweep of chairmanship and council seats (even though reports had it that PDP was winning in someplaces) because states hav the autonmous power to conduct local govt elections in their respective states the govt(party) in power will appiont members of the state electoral body(note not INEC) to hold elections where the ruling party @ state level always win so therefore parties like ACN LABOUR ANPP are just as guilty as PDP in organizing sham elections

Unfortunately, the very first statement there is tainted with errors. ACN itself cannot conduct an election in anywhere Nigeria since INEC(supposed to be an independent Agency but overall does not seem to be), is not a state Agency and does not answer to any State Governor, even in an ACN led state.

Now, this is not to say that ACN or any other party did not rig votes in that state. Please understand the questions and statements made so far.

@Kobojunkie,

Correction. INEC doesn't conduct local govt elections. There's what they call a SIEC (State Independent Electoral Commission) for that. The SIEC is autonomous from INEC and they don't work together or have same officials.

The guy is correct to say an ACN led govt organised elections in Lagos.

ACN is the worst party have ever seen in this country. Take 4 example the last local govt election in lagos state, ACN has nothing to offer nigerian. I suggest that PDP should contd.

i seriously get confused when some nigerians talk. jonathan who is the president of nigeria will never ever talk without first saying, yes we are working to reduce corruption in govt which is a clear indication that there is corruption in his govt.
i listened to jega say sometime last two weeks that they at inec have failed nigerians because of their inabilities to jail a single inec official yet.
if these two heads have confirmed their various failures, why are their supporters saying otherwise?
nigeria is naturally and culturally corrupt and as such, can never conduct a free and fair election.
who pays brings in a judge in his own case? jonathan spoilt jega with the kind of billions he has never seen in his whole life so what were nigerians expecting.

My opinion is this:

Election rigging has been taken to an all-scientific and ludicrous level by the PDP cult. The PDP, since 2003, has organised some of the worst form of election rigging without batting an eyelid. They have limitless resources to rig elections in their favour more than any other existing parties. The police, army, media house, money war-chest and the Judiciary are all on the payroll of PDP. Really I can't blame parties like ACN and CPC for toeing the same path as PDP. Afterall, no one has been punished by the PDP for electoral rigging.

All electoral offenders since 2003, particularly from the PDP have not been punished. Imagine a former PDP deputy-governor from a SW state was caught swapping ballot boxes and nothing was done about the incident. Sometimes, it makes me wonder if ACN deliberately rigged 2011 local government election in Lagos to spite the PDP. Since PDP cannot punish its own, they haven't any right to punish any other party that rigs. Charity begins at home,
