janita: i av a sister that had her baby at abt her 7th month. she according to the doc has FIBROID. She is presently scared of conceiving cos the first was hell. pls what can she do to handle d case of fibroid in pregnancy. i would appreciate if u all av some vital info to give.

Fibroid is a tissue growth in the uterus, even though its called a tumor,its nt related to cancer. It grows well with the help of estrogen, pregnancy increases progesterone level n the fetus compete with the fabroid for survival. Getting pregnant on its own is a means of preventing fabroid, in addition she can do the following to prevent fsbroid growth;
1. Eat fish instead of meat coz fish reduce estrogen level
2. Avoid been stressed up, rest n sleep well coz stress increase estrogen secretion
3. Eat lots of fruits n vegetable but avoid fatty foods, avoid junk food
4. Avoid birth control pills, spermacids n oda substances that will stimulate estrogen secretion.
N.B Fabroid will on its own disappear once a lady reaches menopause because then estrogen secretion will cease or reduce significantly so the fabroid can't survive.

@beauty, I can relate with you on the pain you felt cos i too have multiple fibroids and felt that pain thrice in the 2nd trimester of my first pregnancy, its just like labour pains. Thank God you're ok now. I pray it doesn't re-occur. I'm 39wks gone now and it never happened in this pregnancy. I wonder why, not complaining though.

Hello sweet ladies,i was on this thread in june nd since then been an onlooker. Congrats to the mamas nd well wishes to we the mothers to be.
I am exactly 22wks today. I have been experincing this severe pains on ♍Ɣ pelvis for over a month now. When getting up from bed, chair or when trying to turn while sleeping. Difficulties to stand nd walk immediately. Pls id this normal. ♍Ɣ DR said it is because of d baby weight or something i cant even recon with.pls is this normal? Cos it is over a month by now.

Am 10weeks today but the General Hospitl I went to,said they only start ante-natal in the 4month.I dunno wot to do,Should I look for a private hospital or just hold on??Pls I need answers momma.

Mummyz,owr u today,my son is 7wks plus today,and before now I'd noticed that hez always gassy,has added a lot of weight and when he poops(once in bout 2days)its always explosive,watery and plenty,went to complain at d clinik but was told he was fine
So I decided to do some research,and I found out that babies who displayed such symptoms were getting too much foremilk and less hindmilk(this is termed oversupply)meaning that I was producing a lot of milk(d thing used to spurt out lik a tap)and d youngman wud be satisfied with d foremilk and unabl to tak d hindmilk(wch had all d nutrients),now this foremilk contains a lot of lactose and sucrose,which made him gassy(lactose)and add a lot of weight(sucrose).

D solution is for d baby to feed on one breast for d whole day,this way he gets to d hindmilk no matter what(I used to change breasts after every feed,which was wher d wahala was),and wen d milk starts rushing out lik a tap,let it stop befor continuing wth d feeding,I tried this method and iv noticed changes in my baby,hez not as gassy as he used to be(I actualy thot he had colic) hope this helps someone

maybe you can look for a private hospital, there really shouldn't be a time limit to starting ante natal, I started at 11 weeks. for the nausea you could try fresh ginger in warm/ hot water as a tea, worked wonders for me, even better than drugs.

Hello house,my cousin conceived while on yeast medication (Diflucan and ciproflaxine).She found out and stopped the treatment but that was after she had taken the single dose Diflucan (150mg) and 7 tablets of 500mg cipro. She is fine and 5 weeks on now but I just want to get your opinion. Regards

sorry about the pains, dear, there are a few things you should do like rolling slowly till u get out of bed instead of sitting up sharply, and using a warm compress around the area. it helps in making the pain more bearable.

She is fine. but ciproflox is not for yeast infection. and if she was treating something else with the ciproflox, she should have completed the dose for the ciproflox by switching to another antibiotic considered safe in pregnancy.

I think it is okay to lie on your stomach if you are comfortable with that. I lie but in such a way so as not place my entire weight on my stomach. I think the majorthing for concern is lying on URLs back, especially for a long time

Thanks for the response. She did not continue the treatment because we think she did not have any infection in the first place. They relied on her complain of stomach pains and minor itching which could have been the onset of conception. The test result showed no growth and the symptoms long gone, so I wonder why the prescription .
