I am team February oooo. Edd just dey change 17 to 14 to 8th.
My Preggy journey so far has been free of hassles, no pains, unnecessary aches, vomiting stopped since like 9th week.
I am now darker dan before but not d charcoal levels. Every ANC appointment gives Good report (Today I weighed 54kg from 40kg wey I take start).
The only concern of mine is that I haven't bought a single baby&
delivery stuffs. There's cash ooo but am New to this Environment. Wish I was still in Lag. My Bday is coming soon so hubby and I plan to go baby shopping that day with his friends wife sha...

Very long but worthy read. Mothers who plan to do ebf should express their milk constantly to be sure the breast is making enough milk.

That a baby is always sucking doesn't mean he is getting milk! and we shouldn't allow people's opinion get to us just because we chose to offer formula.

A living and healthy baby is all that matters.

Very very good read. May God help us do right by our kids and may we encounter good and capable doctors, nurses and caregivers. My baby also had jaundice and I didn't know because nobody told me despite the fact that thedoctors and attendants at his birth knew he was jaundiced and had a slightly higher bilirubin level. The did nothing!. The only thing I noticed was that he was so lethargic (won't open his eyes, especially when the lights in the room were on). He also won't eat. He would try and latch, suck three or four times then get off again. They also refused me giving him formular! As at day two, he had eaten nothing!! It was until the pediatrician who also happened to be Nigerian came the next morning that she told me EBF is not a medal. I should try and give him formula. He won't also take the formular but I tried. Pumping breastmilk probably saved my son and allowed his bili levels drop so fast. He would not take more than 10ml then cos he was so weak from the sheer amount of bilirubin in him and they had to pass a tube through his nose and down his belly to make sure he's getting fed. I was not happy with it, but I knew it was needed cos I know his bilirubin level has to go down as fast as possible so as not to risk brain injury. If I was hell bent on putting him to my breast and trying to get in to suck, I would have entered one chance!


Here in the US, if you have certain insurances, you get any kind of breastpump for free but you need a Doctor's certification that you're indeed pregnant to get it. When I asked my OB for the referral when I was still pregnant, he absolutely refused to give me, talmbout how he won't give me one until I have the baby and latch has been established!. TF?? I had to go behind his back and talk to my insurance company who referred me to the breastpump providers and they contacted and got my referral directly from the doctor's office. This was a doctor who decided to still be seeing me every two weeks as at 37 weeks, when he was supposed to be seeing me every week. When I asked him, he said it's because my pregnancy was stress free and he doesn't see the need to see me every week. My hubby (he always went with me for my prenatal appointment screamed blue murder and threatened brimstone and fire at the doctor. he was so pissed! God forbid I develop pre-eclampsia or whatever in between those two weeks, how will they catch it? And this was a doctor, at a highbrow medical facilities that I decided to chose just because I thought they will offer superior service despite the higher out of pocket costs.

Sorry for my rant, that story was similar to what happned to me and had I listened to everything my OB said and not applied common sense, my case would have been sorry now. Please mamas, listen to your healthcare providers but also do your own research before seeing the doctor and ask questions. Question anything and everything (even if it means the healthcare providers will tire for your matter and give your side eyes). If any advise or recommendation they give you does not sound right or sit well with you, challenge it, ask why and research well. They do whatever you feel good about. Provided it's not detrimental. Now I pretty much pump all the time, and feed him bottles of breastmilk. At least I'm sure he's eating and how much he's getting to avoid stories that touch. If my supply goes down, I know immediately and find ways to rectify it. Once beaten, twice shy. I don't want stories that touch

I was placed on drip immediately, around 6a.m I finally felt my lo movement, I Labour still around 5pm still 4cm, the doctors later call the CMD he check again still 4cm, the next option was CS, I was wheel into the theater nd my baby boy was out in less than 10min.
On 26th my BB started breathing heavily my dh call the attention of the doctors he was placed on oxygen but no improvement he was later referred to another hospital my dh had to rush him to the hospital that night, thank God he don't wait still morning.

The doctors told him assuming he waited for more than 30min my bb will have gone.

Hello beautiful mamas on this forum,pls come & touch light my matter.I'm 13weeks 2days today according to scan. I went for my first scan yest and the result says *A viable and active foetus+myoma of abt 44mm*43mm in diameter*. The sonographer doesn't mention anything to me abt the myoma so I googled it and was made to understand that it is fibroid. This is my second time of getting pregnant, I didn't have fibroid during my first pregnancy so am so confused.Though when I checked the cause of it,dat pple above 30years and fat pple usually have it,I know I fall into the category. Now my question, has anyone experience fibroid during pregnancy, how did you do it? Am yet to register for antenatal, i plan to do so next month as I want to travel for Xmas anytime from now. Hope next month is not to late to talk to doctor concerning it. Pls help me o.

Took me time too to adjust.
Thick tea n heavily buttered bread was my meal 4 2 weeks b4 breastfeeding showed me n i started eating.

Even at that food has no taste.... i cant taste pepper till now. No matter how much it is with everyone crying, i just feel nothing.

Maybe u can find what works n have it always.

You dey mind them? Please feed the child whatever works good for you are, they like making a mountain out of a molehill. Though I've never used fomular before, I heard Enfamil Gentlease, Enfamil ProSoBee, Similac Pro-Sensitive and Similac Sensitive can be used for gassy babies. You might wanna try it.

As for being unable to eat, You're not the only one. I couldn't eat for weeks after I had the baby and they also thought I was trying to lose weight but I just didn't have the appetite. I was producing approximately 45 ounces of milk per day, yet I had no appetite. It will gradually increase (appetite) but you might not be ravenous and be eating everything and anything like people say you do when you're lactating. I still eat very minimal food and i'm never really hungry. I did lose weight really fast though
