Gr8 to have found this tHREAD. I'm in my 34th week and it just struck me that I have JUST 6 weeks to go!! WOW! Reading through all the posts, I realise that I very well may be the luckiest pregnant woman alive! I have not had any issues in all of my 34 weeks. Not even any episode of throwing up in the dreaded first trimester. I have not added as much weight as I feared I would have. Somebody shout hallelujah My only wahala is the incessant need to EAT. That I'm not fat is truly truly a miracle. I have way too much energy and I do everything I used to before I got pregnant. Including "unpregnant sex". The only thing I stopped is going to the gym. Although, I'm toying with the idea of using the treadmill. I'd advise all pregnant women to get some sort of exercise from time to time. For me, I take walks (45mins - 1.5hrs) according to my power for the day I hear swimming is also good. I take all my drugs regularly. Never miss a hospital appointment. Eat loads of fruits every other day Read a shit load of stuff about pregnancy (thank u Google!). Had to reduce the over reading sha because I started getting paranoid at some point. But it helps to arm yourself with information especially in 9ja where the doctors and nurses don't seem thorough enough! I'm currently enjoying the joy of being kicked and watching my baby move in my tummy like she's taking swimming lessons This is my first baby and I am super excited! Whilst I've been blessed with an uneventful pregnancy, I can't wait to have this baby and start sleeping on my tummy again! Thinking about eventually holding her in my arms gives me a rush you can't get from cocaine! I'm even afraid I might go crazy for a few hours just from sheer JOY! I can't wait!!! 10 Likes 1 Share |

^^^ and to think I felt guilty for not buying my own stuff till about 34th week . The only pears product I bought is the oil (Johnsons is too watery). I bought Agnesia powder, vaseline baby jelly, nycil wipes, savlon antiseptic, johnon's baby soap, silverbird eucalyptus oil (to mix with the baby oil), mentholata balm and local pampers for the first few weeks. We wanted to buy huggies or better quality diapers but we learnt from our son who pooped about five times a day or more for the first few weeks. |

I use pears baby oil for my son and he's so shining I used johnson for him for the first 3days, he had rashes all over but pears did the magic and cleared it *my son came out ebony* I heard it makes them turn black |

@ Pinky, you've not tried the locally made pampers against pampers active baby (the obodo oyinbo one) the difference no be laffing mata . Imo Nigerian pampers is one step up the ladder from cloth nappy . If we had known we would have used it fo our son in his first few weeks. Instead We were using huggies on a baby pooping almost on an hourly basis . The thing still dey pepper me for body when i think about all the wasted quality diapers. Its all good sha |

I used the Pears stuff on my son once we had travelled to the village and i did not have his Aveno or Johnsons cream and powder. When i applied the Pears cream my son cried then his skin broke out in a rash all over. I used it on myself and also irritated my skin so i would recommend Johnsons products. |

Original Johnsons products you mean. There are loads of their fake products here in Nigeria, its safer not to even dabble into buying such. I've not had much experience with pears product except the oil and its far better than than the liquidy one sold here. |

Yes. Dominique i ment to repost this and stress the importance of buying original Johnson product. Ill tell you a story i went to the oyibo store and thorught i was buying Johnson original when i got home i noticed it smelt different and also felt different when i turned it around it said made in South Africa, needless to say I was not happy. The Johnson USA which is the original Johnson was in short supply. Anyways i gave the creams to my husbands sister. I then went to a pharmacy and bought original Aveno.WHen i return i will certainly be packing a few months supply of the cream, powder and body wash for my little rugrats. Your almost due Madame moderator i hope you got your bags packed and someone coming over to help you out with the two year old once you deliver. |

Yes o Agi, my friend that bought johnsons product for her baby totally regretted it. Powder was coarse, lotion was pasty, oil was watery. She had to do away with them and replace them with other products I recommended. Even their wipes my husband bought dried fast. I don't know if they're delibrately sending inferior products to Nigeria or there are lots of fakes in the markets. Yup , I'm all packed up and literally counting the days . Started having mild contractions so I know the d-day is drawing nearer. MIL will be staying with us for a while, after that I'm on my own . |

Good luck ooo, i hope you deliver naturally and not by section, is baby head down and engaged yet? Sections take forever to recover from, im not looking forward to it because of teh pain involved. Last time it took me over 1 month to be able to stand and walk up straight i was always walking leaned over once the drugs started to wear off. |

Hi ladies Nice thread, though I wish I'd known about it earlier as I gave birth to my lil princess almost 2wks ago (dominique ). I thank God I was able to defy all odds and have a natural delivery, havin had my boy through a c-section 20 months ago, even d docs told M̶̲̅ε̲̣ to prepare for d possility of a cs, cos my sutures weren't completely healed. Thank God, after months of prayer and alomst 24hrs of dramatic uninduced labour and a lil bit of episotomy, we welcomed our preety little bundle of joy:-D . Its been a privilege readin all ur stories, wish all safe delivery and pray God make us good mamas to these precious little ones. 3 Likes |

^^^Yeah yeah yeah, no be me send you not to explore the site . Now you can proceed to the baby thread (don't say I didn't tell you o!) and leave us expectants to sort ourselves out. @Agiboma There's nothing I'm dreading more than a cs right now. Just can't imagine going through another month of excruciating pain . So far so good sha. The baby's cephalic (unlike my son that was breech), not too big and the placenta is not in the way phew! I'm a bit afraid of the vjay tear but I heard it heals faster than cs, so I don't really mind. All I have to do now is put everything in God's hands and hope for the best (hopefully not cs) |

Ill be keeping you in my thought and sending positive energy g-d will see you through. As for me I have no choice in the matter as teh type of csection i had with my son does not allow me to deliver naturally ever. Im just preparing for it im staying with my sister and will stay for an additional 2 weeks after i deliver, just for the help then im on my own with hubby my two year old and a newborn. Be sure to come back and post the birth story oooo, we love those on this thread. |

@tjski i hope you feel better soon, i know some typhid meds are not safe to use during pregnancy @fretok your wife pregnancy is still very young and cramping is normal in early pregnancy just as long as its not associated with any bleeding. All my pregnancies i had so much creamping from 4-8 weeks then it stopped, tell your wife it will pass in time, but if she starts to bleed then go see a doctor. Good luck and congratulations on your wife's pregnancy. |
