The anatomy scan, 20-week ultrasound, or level 2 ultrasound, evaluates anatomic structures of the fetus, placenta, and maternal pelvic organs. This scan is an important component of routine prenatal care.

This gives a thorough evaluation of the fetus while in the womb.

A proper hospital must recommend this at 20 weeks.

Phew! How time flies. Just yesterday we tested positive and now we are all in our second trimester. Thank you Jesus and may Allah be praised!

Giving birth to my first baby through C-section, we were advised that if we wanted to try vbac we will have to give at least space of 24months. When my baby girl clocked two years, we started decided to try for another. This time around, we wanted a boy

That's how research started o. When to try, things to do and eat etc. We started trying in October. November came and I guess we miscalculated cos period came. We tried again during my ovulation period in November. Lmp was 22nd. That's how the journey of 9months started.

For the first trimester, I suffered from bitter taste buds and lil cravings as well as aversion for sharwarma. Ante natal started at 16weeks. Scan was done and I was told gender was XY. I actually felt that was too early sha but other scans in the months ahead confirmed same.

During my visits for ante natal, the gynecologist will want to confirm my birth method (repeat C-section or vbac). I told them that I wanted to try vbac. However, I was informed that it was dependent on baby weight and the progress of labour.

Fast-forward to 35weeks, the gynecologist conducted a pelvic examination to be sure vbac was possible. He also referred me for scan in order to ascertain baby's weight. Everything came out okay but I was told that if in two weeks I don't go into labour, that they will have no choice but to prep me for surgery. I said okay with confidence that labour will surely come.

Two weeks later after several exercise (baby dance, climbing of stairs, walking) but still no labour. I went for ante natal and I was told that I will be admitted as expected.

That's how I went back home and later went with my load to the hospital later that evening.

The following day, I was prepped for surgery. My beautiful baby boy was delivered at 2.85kg. See me that was scared that baby's weight was going to be much if I had gone through vbac.
It also happened that this baby had cord wrapped twice round him just like my first. I guess that's why labour didn't progress. My babies think sey my belle na playground

After wards, breast milk delayed in coming. At some point, I had to resort to formula feeding to ensure that there was no issue of jaundice. This was done from Saturday evening till Monday when they tested my baby. Result came out and we were discharged. No trace of jaundice.

We are home with the hustle of increasing breast milk supply.

All thanks to God for everything. We prayed and He answered.
