PDP threatens to drag Osun gov to EFCC over N636m contract

The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned that it will drag the state governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over a N636 million flower planting contract for premises of the state House of Assembly.

The party, in a statement issued by its publicity secretary, Funmi Lamuye, said it was scandalous for Aregbesola’s state executive council to have announced on Friday the award of the N636 million contract for landscaping of the House of Assembly premises.

“Oyinlola built the Assembly office complex with less than N100 million about three years ago. It is a scandal that the Lagos boy now in Osun wants to plant flowers on the premises with more than half a billion naira,” the PDP said.

While asking the government not to take the silence of Osun people for stupidity, the PDP accused the ACN government of insulting the intelligence of the people with that decision, which, it said, was with impunity.

It also challenged Aregbesola to deny reports that he had also approved N377 million to celebrate one year of his O-YES programme, even while participants in the programme were leaving the job in droves.

The party added that it was closely following the activities of the government, stressing that relevant anti-corruption agencies would be invited to the state if the government failed to call itself to order.

We were all here when the pdp falsely accusing Aregbesola of squandering allocations Osun State never received vis-a-vis what accrues to every state as per the allocation formula.

The desperate lies of the Pdp , exposed many times on nl as falseness, can only be embraced by the feudalist keen to side with dishonesty and misrule just to malign a political Party and region.

Like Demdem concluded, why will the Pdp not take this "bombshell " (pack of lies in reality) to the Efcc directly instead of making noise?

Has Aregbesola not signed a 0.636 BILLION flower planting contract for the N100 million assembly complex?

Do "sore winners" sign contracts like this? 0.636 BILLION to plant hibiscus?

I know Osun state very well and I am Yoruba. I don't undestand what the Action Congress craze is all about.

If it is truly established that Aregbesola has awarded the contract, PDP should furnish EFCC with the facts.

I don't think there's a greater propagandist than Aregbesola. We knew how he was accusing Oyinlola of all manners of things before he became the governor.
And N377 miliion or so to celebrate O-YES? An ill-conceived youth empowerment programme. Mind you, I have people (graduates) who were offered the rubbish jobs. Let's just call it LAWMA, because all they do is sweep and clean drainages.
