Nigeria’s U-20 Women National Team this evening at the MKO Abiola Stadium in abeokuta defeated Zimbabwe 3-0 in the first leg, second round of the 2012 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier. A brace from Francisca Ordega and Esther Sunday were good enough to silence the Young Mighty Warriors. The opener came in the 25th minute through Ordega one of the players that graduated from the U-17 national team that featured at the 2010 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago. She struck a minute later in the second period with Sunday wrapping it up in the 55th minute after a perfect combination with and midfielder and playmaker, Ngozi Okobi. With the scoreline, Falconets need a draw to qualify for the third round when both teams meet in the return leg a fortnight from now in Harare. the Falconets were rewarded with the sum of 1 million naira by the ogun State Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun. http://www.soccerroomtoday.com/nigerian-premiership/nigerian-u-20-team-beat-zimbabwe-3-0/ |
