At near busman station yesterday, while buying airtime to call naija, there was by my side, Emeka(not real name) an ibo guy on dreadlook that will be termed madness in naija, was at loggerhead with the southy owner of the shop. After handling the issue, i engaged him in a dialogue...his story remains the same....he was told all manners of lies, jump on de plane and is here roasting...he said he will be going back in december...his mother promised to sens her airticket to return home then...how is he surviving....a southy gal who he has to satify enof is hoursing him...i pity d guy...the gal like am sha...if u c one like that, maybe it will beta. Oh God, come c guys we go do better for alaba, auto part and idumota kon dey hold placard for hair salon for R50 a day. Pls dont come here if u dont have money for mega business. SA is business friendly, but gud business. Hold yah millions come here and enjoy yah life.

Wetin u dey do for here na matter. As u talk, maybe u dey enjoy, but what is the proportion of naijans that are doing well compared to those carrying placards, sleeping in pubs and are homeless?

Dont mislead yurself by saying all Nigerian pple are suffering here but I thank God I hav not regreted dat I came 2 SA. Thought I enterd rebublic of SA oct 26th 2011 getin 2 6 mths now and I never woke up a day 2 dream of goin back 2 Naija now because all my planned were greatly achieved within short period of 4 mths in SA and i always thank God dat my life is totaly transformed 4 beter dan when I was in Naija. D issue is dat many pple came here without notin. No certiface. No any qualfction. No Job experience instead of u to be told by yur bogus Agent who made Bleep up visa 4 u dat here is an africa not Europe so when u get here dont let yur exptcton high and dont think of makin quich cash immedatly u get here without any qualfcaton 2 show even quote me wrong anywhere d European countries u ar always refring 2 go dere many Nigerians are sufring there let alone Africa. But I thank GOD 4 my life 2 be in SA.

@ samorano how did you legalize your stay in SA within four months? Did you submit your application at home office by yourself or went through registered immigration practitioner or unregistered agent? Did you do "arrangee " marriage, life partner, study, work or business permit or a legitimate one. These are part of the info an aspiring immigrant to SA may consider before making final decision.
It is not enough to come on this forum and brag about how successful you are with your plans within short period of time?

In response 2 yur inquiry. Dont monopolise others opinion. If u knw dat bad luck against yur success in SA. Let me vividly recal u dat all fingers are not equal. We don't question the fact that dreams are achievable here, but @ what proportion compared to nigeria? In naija, u don't have to be a graduate to eat in your first week of relocating to a new city...there are menial jobs that will fend for your initial needs, but here...na zero. Its only handwork like mechanic, plumber, electrician, hair barber/dressers e.t.c and yet the competition is stiff. Imagine, if u are an hairdresser, b4 some1 will get to yah shop, he has bn evaded with a hundred of hungry looking, visious nigerians and others with placards on the street. Its patetic.
By the way, i am a graduate and not just one lazy-talker.
Schooling here is good, but with soo much money, if at masters level...u will get buseries that can take care of yah...like R2500 or so, depending on d school. But the truth is there are no jobs yet for the southy and now you who is a foreigner.
Here, what pays is business. When coming, hold yah side well well. Its tough. I was with a guy who has bn here for like 10yrs yesterday and he was lamenting that southy has changed.
Make sure u have money, dont come empty handed. Here, u r on yah own oh...ur brother go collect rent from u self, including that one wey sey he don make am here above...they cant host their parents from home, cos most of naija are squatting here. Hold yah millions as u dey come...if u come broke, u go go back broke and if possible, as winter they come next month, die broke in the cold, cos u no go get were to lay yah head. Shikena....he that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the naija people church 4 southy!

@ jidewin. good talk.

it is necessary for the aspiring immigrant to know how water take runs deep, but most guys that brag about their success hide this part. It doesnt make sense to come on this forum saying "I came to SA 2 days ago with visitor visa, became legal resident yesterday and living Big today" it will make sense to an aspiring immigrant if i give some details of how i was able to achieve that..............

@metrol,one tin l use to tel peeps coming to sa is dat d first set of people u mingle with on getting here n ow u spend ur first 30days n ur mindset b4 leaving naija will determine ur life in sa.most naijas r racing faster dan their shadows cos dey r calculating d total money spent on their trip 2 sa n want to recover all with interest in like 2mths time.am presently in durban wth my family n av successfully finished my paramedics course.70o/o of my fee was paid by sa govt despite dat am a foreigner n l now av a job offer of 3000usd monthly in america wth permanent residence 4 me n my family.my hubby also av a registerd company in sa n doing well.all we av within 2yr in sa is to d glory of God,patience, hardwork n dedicatn. We av no regrets watsoeva of relocating to RSA

@qeenyetty
Good and straight to the point. I am glad for you. Your experience is refreshing and i am proud of you as a nigerian in SA.
A point i want to establish, Southy is a land of opportunity. A green country wit boundless wits. The truth is all these are for those who prepared their coming wit enof money and sought-for skills.
The fact abounds that well over 70% of naijas here were not ready b4 coming here, just go to d asylums offices today and u will know what i am talking about.

Re: Naija In Southy: My Ongoing Experience. by RolandPet(m): 11:26am On Apr 26, 2012
South Africa is a great place...I was there last year and my intention was to stay there because of the type of business that I don which permit me to trade anywhere in the word and within three weeks of my staying I was making money and leaving very comfortable.

But the only mistake I made initially was allowing the older one's to come very closer to me,along the line I become very unsecured, they were tracking me everywhere I go so even went to an extent of sending thugs to me to come and obtain money illegally from me that I use to have money steady. As a result of this I decided to come back to Naija.

Just preparing to leave to SA again but will be changing city....Done with J'burg(Randberg),Pretoria...thinking of going very far....like cape town, east london where there 's no much Jobless naija guys so that I can feel relaxed and do my work perfectly just that if you stay all this place you will definitely be bored cous is only white you will be seeing and their mode of life is totally different from us black.
