Now that I have the privilege of commenting on England loss,here is my take. The blame is all on Southgate cus you can't make the same mistake twice and not be called out,but I will also like to absolve him some of the blame after realising that not all of us can be pep Guardiola or Thomas Tuchel and also won't be proper to expect him to beat a senior man like Mancini to a trophy. However the manner at which he lost the semifinals against Croatia at the last world cup and the finals against italy are similar and leave much to be desired. I mean you took the lead in the early minutes of both games without any form of resistance from your opponent so why not look to control the game by having an extra midfielder in the game and pass them around till sterling or kane gets the chance to run at their defences? Focus more on how to score your second goal since you have the history of always been complacent on a single goal lead. Italy rarely beats teams that hold on to the ball too much,capitalize on this by just having more men in the midfield, bring in Sancho earlier and you have the Italian committing more fouls.Italy on that day only had three threats chiesa,verratti, bonucci,the whole team itself weren't threatening enough as they were not shooting or crossing but somehow Southgate allow them to be in the game even when the whole stadium was behind your team. I hope he will learn to control games of such magnitude next time with good chances creation, instead of giving out possession to his opponent and hoping for individual brilliance.

You hit the nail on the head. Same mistake as 2018, ceding the midfield to the opponent to protect a fortuitous early lead.

Your opinion holds no weight because Mikel and Ramires partnership did not last another 5 months after booting Chelsea out of UCL group stage when asked to form defensive base for an attacking team and continuing to struggle in the league. Within few months, Mikel was bench fodder while Ramires was sent to China. Since Mikel and Ramires is your standard, I think Jorginho should fit right in with such low standards.

I can definitely buy a club in Ogbomisho and fund them comfortably whereas I doubt you can fund kit and boots for a children's team.
