Chelsea's youth signing policy from a footballing perspective has attracted a number of young players, and personal (blueangel444 😁 no sarcasm) I admire it. If I was 21 I would prefer to play with my age mates or be more comfortable around my age grade than with players 5yrs my senior.

Having a mentor or senior player is all good but this boys grew playing in the academy that lacked some 5yr older player playing with them. The relationship the bonding. No egocentric characters and all that. Everyone is learning. It may not seem great at first but with time.

You are right we used to call them Dougla in Trinidad. You will see 2 black looking people with Indian looking kids only to find out that 2 grand parents are Indian and 1 great-grandparent is Lebanese.

There was one babe that i was trying to offer moral support that had 1 Spanish grandparent, 1 Lebanese grandparent, 1 Chinese grandparent, 1 Indian grandparent, and the Spanish grandparent was half black. She was a bit confused about her ethnicity so i tried my best to educate her in toto about the ups and downs of race and ethnic identity.
