There's nothing to assume there. Their position is clear

In the West, an average Yoruba lady will marry a Christian and nothing happens. In the north, it's almost impossible

In the West, a Muslim enjoys alcohol. Infact we have Muslims running Betting businesses and clubs (Shina Peller, Akin Alabi, Kessignton). In the North, that cannot happen

In the West, there is no Hisbah Police. In the North, they are very effective

I could go on and on. The Northerners are the problem, not Islam
Are you sure Muslims don't enjoy alcohol, clubs and betting in the North? Or that's what you hear? The hisbah police you're talking about is in Kano, and there are several clubs with alcohol etc

The Factors that Constitute Marriageable Age
And test orphans (in their intelligence and abilities) until they reach marriageable age. If you then observe sound judgement from them, release their property to them, and do not consume it without due right, exceeding the limit thereby, and (nor consume it) hastily lest they grow up (whereupon you have to return it to them). And whoever (among the guardians) is rich, he should refrain (from taking a fee for his guardianship), but if he is poor, then let him take according to what is just and reasonable. So when you release their property to them, bring witnesses over them and sufficient is Allāh in taking account. Qur'an 4:6

And do not approach the orphan's property except (to increase it through trade) in a way that is best until he reaches (mental and physical) maturity. And give full measure and weight in justice. We do not task any soul except with what lies in its capacity (to bear). And when you testify, be just, even if (it concerns) a near relative. And fulfill the covenant of Allāh. This is what He has instructed you so that you may remember. Qur'an 6:52
And when the children among you reach puberty, let them ask permission [at all times] as those before them have done. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses; and Allah is Knowing and Wise.
Qur'an 24:59
Donjazet, Nihilist, Teejay, AfroDoc, Unlimited22 and others I failed to mention this is the position of Islam as regards to the marriageable age.

Like i said, I have stayed there

Maybe in their big cities, this can be found. But in other underdeveloped areas, you can't find them, at least....not publicly

The one where I stayed was owned by an Igbo man, and it was allowed to operate because 98% of his customers were uniformed men from the south...Army, Police and Immigration officers.

All my days there, I never saw an average Hausa man walk in to sit and drink beer. Any one that comes was affiliated with the above I mentioned

So it is not hear say sir. Leave the big cities in the North and go to the underdeveloped ones. It exists

Qur'an is the highest authority in Islam and commands Muslims to take Muhammad as the best example or a life guide.

“Indeed in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example to follow for him who hopes in Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much.” (Al-Quran 33:21)

“And verily, you (Muhammad) are on an exalted (standard of) character.”[ Al Quran 68:4 ]

Just few examples.

Muhammad had his good and bad sides (like every human).

But strong/traditional Muslims strive to follow all his deeds (Sunnah) both good and bad, as commanded by Quran without questioning them (there are Quranic verses prohibiting Muslims from questioning Qur'an and Sunnah).

But one has to question everything.

Also, Shariah laws are built on Qur'an and Sunnah.

Things like pedophilia and terrorism are some of the bad sides of Muhammad and reflect in Sharia laws and cultures, which some conservative Islamic nations follow (and the North in Nigeria).

Okay...

But you and I can agree that nowhere in the Quran was child marriage and terrorism commanded...

Abi?

Qur'an 24:59
The bone of contention in that first verse is "until they reach marriageable age".

Is there a fixed age of marriage in Islam?

Who sets the age? Muhammad or a country's law/government?

What's good and bad shouldn't be static, absolute as Islam makes it to be.

It should be dynamic, so there can be room for change and improvement.

Many things (such as age of marriage, slave trade) that were legal during Muhammad's time (which was in the dark age of science) are now archaic and illegal in many places around the world.

But Islam is absolute and static.

Many Muslims around the world don't see things like Muhammad's marriage to Aisha at 9 years of age, engaging in and supporting slave trade, slavery, military conquests, etc. as evil today .

Some of those atrocities may not be evil or illegal in Muhammad's time, but they're in modern times as humans have undergone mind evolution over the years to an extent and what's good or bad has changed.

Most Muslims want Islam to become a global religion, and if that happens, things like child marriage, slave trading, terrorism will be more common around the world.

That's because Qur'an and Sunnah (i.e. Islam) need to be reformed, just like Christianity had been done a number of times to create various versions of the Bible and different sects.

But reforming Islam is almost impossible (a new Qur'an is needed and many histories of Muhammad have to be rewritten).

Personally, apart from socializing (the same function watching football serves), religions don't really serve any real purpose (other than being a tool for politicians). My opinion.
