I wrote more than 50 love letters back then....I had a customized intro for M̶̲̥̅γ̲̣̣̥ new catch or admirer 'things do happen that is beyond human imagination' It̶̲̥̅̊ was always sophisticated cuz am the last born and M̶̲̥̅γ̲̣̣̥ brodas were in higher institution then so D̶̲̥̅̊ε̲̣̣̣̥γ̲̣̣̥ always help M̶̲̥̅Ƹ out ' you ll be the mother of M̶̲̥̅γ̲̣̣̥ children and vice versa.nice experience though...we had fun #oshamo |

Oh i remeber 'laughing' I wrote something similar some years ago when i was still new back then. I gave Aminat, Tolulope and Rukayat something similar but today now i yaff turn to don of girls. The number one baddest boy, the king of runs, i run things, i run girls to be frank am a baf boy. Gbam |

Mehn d gud ol days r gone, dis rily draged me down memory lane cos i remember not only writing luv letters but also standn under d mango tree for hours n she wont show up den id av 2 trek 2 her hauz n initiate plan b which is eida throwin a smal stone at dia window 2 announce my presence or goin nearer n whistln a particular tune al d while hopn her dad or dia eldest bro doesnt catch me lol |

Gosh!!! I remember 1994 when I wrote this kind of stuff to one stupid girl wey her mama dey operate saloon!! Na so this girl go show her momsy wetin I wrote, thank I have three good hand writing back and after cross checking my book and the letter, It was totally different but that does not gaurantee my safety that night, got the beaten of my life!! Got a hatred attitude for the girl uptil now |

Otses: The good old days... I used to have series of such letters dt I kept and cherished. But unfortunately, someone took them from where I hid them. I remember one that a guy gave me when I was coming from the market with my mom to give to my brother. But something promted me to read it, and when I did, the letter was actually for me! Telling me that there are many fishes in the river, but he choose this particular fish which is me.. i was touched by your post and i want to be your friend. this is from my perception that you must be a very intelligent lady with good moral upbring. if you think we can be friends click like to this post. 1 Like |

Never wrote such, but of course I should have been 13 or 14 by then and it was till I was 15 that I realize that one needs to lie down on a bed and .....before a baby can be created. |

I'm telling you eh, @op you just took me on a ride down memory lane. Back then Guys were willing to do anything, and we still had virtues. Looking at the past now and I'm like wtf?  I Did one or two writtings myself, there was this girl that was always on my radar. We were friends, had mutual friends too. Omo boy just didn't know how to kick it off with her lol We'd sit so close to each other @ night since we stayed in the same neighbourhood in Ikeja. I'd naively put my hands on her shoulders and gradually slide it down her back, landing it right on her As$. My hands would do a little rigmarole around her back-side. The girl didn't even cough, or act like anything was amiss. I still didn't have the liver to tell her the "koko" .. Couldn't bear the torture, The following day I took out my pen and poured my heart into the paper. The whole sugar in my tea, butter on my bread, the only flower in my garden, how I long to make her mine blah blah.. Passed the letter to her thru a friend of hers I knew back then, and that was how the cat was let out of the bag.I had a very rude shock waiting patiently for me. The girl didn't even bother with a reply, but the whole street got to find out about my "Love letter" The funny thing was it gave me some "street cred".. All the "Bros" in my neighbourhood were like guy u dey worry o.. Anyways, years later we became close friends. Though the sex didn't happen. I wrote several of these.I was also the unofficial letter writer for my classmates.that's why the standard of written and spoken english was better then.writing these letters gives u practice even though at the time it seems like plain fun.there are certain kinds of grammatical errors I can not make now.I have paid my dues.nobody does that anymore.ppl go around dropping grammatical nukes all over the place. |

It is quite interesting to note that the poor std of written english thisdays may be as a result of demise of those love letters and letter writing in general because then a guy will consult dictionary and even friends to write sth to impress the girl and girls likewise to impress the guys. Competition was mainly based on academics. Girls accept guys those days not based on the guys' pockets but on the intelligent and other enviable qualities.I can't forget those phrases like you are the sugar in my tea, you are the apple of my eyes, you are the flower in my garden, you are the butter on my bread etc. Also the numerous love books then I can't remember their name with samples of love letters. The waiting for reply to love letter then was killing but was fun. It was an experience I missed so much but one has to move on in life. |

I still got one of such letters in the university_ 200 level in fact. i showed my friends and we laughed although it was more matured than this. I still have fond memories of the guy anyways, i just did not want him then. |
