In other to attract investors either foreign or local who would not venture into the electricity business “unless there is a profitable and sustainable tariff regime”, the Nigerian government are hereby going to give her citizens another half year gift. While a lot of Nigerians are still trying hard to acclimatize to the new year gift in form of fuel subsidy which later results in an extra N32 to the initial N65, our ever interesting and caring leader are here again to give us another gift even while none of us is either celebrating a birthday or anniversary of any kind. Aren't they a good leaders for remebering us? Or can you box a gift for someone you dont remember nor love? To attract an investor (which i know of a sure will be one of them) to come again and inflict another pain of woe, the victim as usual will be the 112 million people out of a population of 167 million people who now live on less than $2 a day. Could this possibly be a case the Holy Bible painted in Lamentation 5:7 "Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities". It is high time we start preparing really hard/smart for things which is still to come. I think the government is embarking on a party date in actualising their 3 major aims for the year 2012 of which 2 are already known but the third still unknown. January 1, 2012 - The first day of the year - Fuel Subsidy Introduction resulting in 50% increment on PMS initial price. June 1, 2012 - The first day of the middle month of the year - Increase the Power Supply Tarrif December 1, 2012 - The first day of the Last month of the year - ******************** (I pray they wont request for our head in a charger!) Which way my intelligent folks? Regards, 'Bosun Oluwayelu |
