JAMB Denies Releasing 2012/2013admissions Cut-off Mark by matthew41(m): 9:08am On May 22, 2012
THE Joint Admissions and Matriculation
Board (JAMB) has denied a newspaper
report (not the Nigerian Tribune) that it
has released 2012 admissions cut-off
mark.
Contrary to the alleged report, the board
said it had concluded arrangements for
hosting the national policy meeting on
Monday, May 21, to decide the cut-off
points and other admission issues.
JAMB Public Relations Officer, Mr Timothy
Oyedeji, in a statement in Abuja, on
Wednesday, said the policy meeting
would be chaired by the Minister of
Education, Professor Ruqayyatu Ahmed
Rufa’i, with vice chancellors, provost,
rectors and other critical stakeholders in
attendance.
Reacting to the said publication on
behalf of the Registrar and Chief Exe-
cutive of JAMB, Professor ‘Dibu Ojerinde,
Mr Oyedeji said there was no iota of
truth in the report and urged the public
to ignore any such reports.
Oyedeji said the board was compelled to
refute the publication because it would
“send wrong signals to some of our
stakeholders at this time; hence we
insist that your report is rather specu-
lative and unfortunate, more so that the
crucial policy meeting that would decide
on this is just by the corner.”
