Really this is sickening, why not provide quality education rather than promise free education which is a sham....not drop existing standards....moving forward is d way not retrogressing our standard of education...I sure pray ASUU does not accept it....for young ones who think am being harsh, trust me 200 is a score u can hit...jst devote more time, study, be diligent and watch urself grow into d man or woman u dream of...remember ur not training to be competent here in naija alone but to to be @ d level of ur peers anywhere in d world |

matrixme: . . .a sad reminder that the present day students are not reading again. They'll rather mortgage their productive times for 2go, BB Ping, Facebook, seasonal movies, soap operas and cable channels being enhanced by an improving power supply. We're almost doomed in this country. Civilization is intoxicating us. I entered with 200 points anyway, and there were lesser distractions during my time (about 6yrs back); so I won't even advise my enemy's child to be happy with 180 out of 400 marks. Truth is always bitter when said like this! This is one of the few sensible posts I've seen...people rejoice over the reduction of cut off marks when they should be weeping? Welcome aboard more illiterate graduates...pathetic |

When will you people, forming 'holier than thou' change? To those opposing the body; are you in any position to know better than they do? Did you bother to inquire the average scores of 200 above? Beside, most of those that are murmurring here, when investigated, are those who entered the versity with 181 while some, probably entered through pre-programmes- without written Jamb. However, how sured are you that a 250 scored candidate wrote for him/herself. Development is not by scoring high marks or graduating with a 1st class. Some of those who move the world never finish high school, let alone the uni. So, if u scored 300 or graduated wit 1st, 2.1; plz! Keep that aside and face reality. hismail1: federal universities won't take,if u are below 200,try againexactly,i trust schools like ibadan,oua or unilag.even if jamb sets a gun 2 their head the chances of admitting people less than 240 will stilll be low |

Even those that scored over 240 in JAMB, are yet to get placement.....so where are we going to put the 160...180 students?  Okay, l see.....they need to create an avenue for their dullard children to enter Federal Universities!  Another "Catchment/Quota System" in disguise!   Lastpage! |

Olodo children of today.  Govt. has to reduce Jamb scores to even 180 for them and even at that, many won't make it. In my time if you didn't score up to 220, Gongola state polytechnic won't even accept you. |

since when dod jamb start setting cut-off marks for schools? i thought each school used to set thier own cut-off marks depending on different criteria? |
