Kimsunh: I assume your company has a letterhead. Write the letters you will write on the letterhead and stamp them. If your company does not, then the account is not a corporate account. It is a personal savings account so, just write a letter in your own name and include your passport. Attach the letter to all other documents you need to submit. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by TYPOP(m): 9:21pm On Nov 19, 2014 |
manikky: I will advise you wait and let them issue him the visa. That way, he is legally permitted to be in the republic. Once he gets the Visa, let him apply for change of status with the new University's letter. It will cost more money (especially VFS's 1,350) but it is safer than to be an illegal. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by TYPOP(m): 9:23pm On Nov 19, 2014 |
jamjam2014: Hmmmmm. It is hard o. I know WITS does not really check for your previous results if you apply, but they are more costly. Also, with 3rd class, forget MOST options of scholarship and be ready to support yourself. I don't know how SAQA will classify you though. You can only try and see how it evolves bro. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by TYPOP(m): 9:26pm On Nov 19, 2014 |
pappy2000: Do you mean you don't want your host to spend more than 160k? If you meant you and your host combined don't want to spend more than 160k, then it is not possible. Visa Application processing and supporting documents is more than 40k. Air ticket is about 110k. That's 150k already. Plus do you even have a passport already? |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by TYPOP(m): 9:27pm On Nov 19, 2014 |
Peeshaun: I'm not sure but I think your duration depends on the conditions of your visa and not what the airport official stamps. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by TYPOP(m): 9:31pm On Nov 19, 2014 |
opsy4real1: opsy4real1: Let's think about it this way: Unless your dad is Dangote or a senator (let that stand for all politicians put together) or other money bags, would you stay in a hotel for the duration of 2 months while in school (never mind 12 months)?? In short, if you use this option, you will be really scrutinized because it doesn't make sense. You may rent a room in the area and use the proof of lease agreement. Alternatively, let your International office write that they will cater for your accomodation until you are able to rent your own place, 1 Like |

Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by TYPOP(m): 8:09am On Nov 20, 2014 |
pappy2000: If I get you right, you want to use your own money for all the processing and transportation. Your host will be responsible for feeding and accomodation. It may be a little hard but if you can manage yourself very well, it should be possible. Your major spending are: Police clearance certificate Visa processing fees Plane ticket Medical report The others are trivial fees. However, make sure the money in the account you will use is at least 400k and not 200k. You may be denied with 200k or less in the account cos they can't know your arrangement. Cheers and all the best. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by TYPOP(m): 8:14am On Nov 20, 2014 |
Peeshaun: When I came into the republic, my visa expired on 31 Dec 2014. The immigration staff stamped 12 Dec 2013. I didn't leave the republic till Sept this year. I am back in the republic again. I had no problem whatsoever. As long as your visa is valid for the duration of your stay and there is no condition on the visa (like you must not spend more than 30 days per entry), you are fine and may ignore the date the immigration official put. I know you will still go to the airport. Kindly confirm for us here after you come back from there. Cheers. |

Ma pple, I need your help. I'm applying for a study permit and I would like you guys to help me answer dis questions please; 1. Will the flight booking that I will be submiting be one way or shud it have a return date? Must I first pay for the flight before I submit? 2. If I pay 6months for medical insurance can I still be issued a visa? 3.Do d still ask for repartiation fee? Abeg help na johnny just come I be. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by yinksob002: 3:48pm On Nov 20, 2014 |
No he can't. Let him get a letter from d school accommodation office to that effect. Some schools may ask u to pay a token as confirmation fee while others may not. Alternatively, you can check out private accommodation online such as" student digz" to know how to go about it. Personally, I will advise you try out d school option because the idea of hotel reservation cannot work for study visa at all. Sorry for d late response as I haven't been online for sometime. All d best opsy4real1: |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by yinksob002: 3:55pm On Nov 20, 2014 |
1) it should have a return date cos the embassy presumes that you are coming back to naija on completion of your studies. Also, you don't need to pay as its just a flight reservation not booking 2) To be on a safer side, pls do a full year medical insurance to avoid being turned down at d embassy 3) Repatriation fee has been cancelled so you don't need to pay for it. All the best HankVoight: |

Hello house, thanks for the bountiful information, I ve really learnt a lot . I'm a postgraduate student of university of Ibadan, I applied for a conference in the republic, but I applied very late for my visa, i applied on the 14th of this month and the conference starts on the 26th - 28th of this month. Which means I have to leave inveriably on the 25th of November. Someone with experience should tell me the processing period. Also a cousine stands to be sponsoring me , he has about 900k in his account , hope its okay? Thanks |
