Abstract2019:this is serious o. I wonder what checks they are carrying out that will warrant them holding one’s passport for that long. I had plans of going somewhere else for vacation this Xmas if they don’t grant me visa. It’s really sad. Is it your first time of applying? I plan to withdraw my passport if they don’t return it by month end so I can spend my vacation in some other country. Any idea of how long it takes if one needs to withdraw his passport? |

victorbk: Go to the VFS where you submitted your application, tell them you want to withdraw your passport. Fill and sign the form they give you. Your passport will/should be ready for collection 2days later. Good luck |

I don't think South African Embassy is serious. My application was done on 25th July but till date, no response. They just confirmed my documents this month from my employer but has not returned my passport. I sent a mail to Veronica and she responded to the mail that the embassy should provide a feedback ASAP. She even copied me in her response to them. Once I didn't see any response by tomorrow, I will send a mail to withdraw my application. hotice1954: |

It's interesting how some people are getting their passport back on time while it is taking some 3months to get response from the embassy. 1 Like |

Please from which airline did you make reservation before applying for your study permit? And please can you share the minimum amount one can have to be on the safest side? |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Theo025: 9:18am On Nov 20, 2019 |
Dongatzby: Use southafrican airways... You can actually do it yourself. Set it on two ways... Make the return like 3 months from the date you want to go. Reserve seat and click pay later... They will first send you one mail that is not it... They will send you another one titled 'Travel Document'. That is what you will print. It is not PDF... Those guys outside VFS wasted my money... I had to redo it inside... 2 Likes |

080bjaked: As in, I kept wondering may this thread is for only those that their visa was delayed. Because people getting it are not posting here so it is looking as if that's what the SA embassy is doing now. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by 2fine2fast(m): 2:53pm On Nov 20, 2019 |
SirKennie13:What about telling your supervisor to get you provisional hostel accommodation. Then he or she sends you a paper evidence of that. That’s what I did. Then for you flight reservation, just go to any Airline website... probably SA airways and book for tentative date for your flight. Make sure it’s not more than 24 hours earlier than your submission at vfs. For all other requirements visit the vfs website. 1 Like |
