Is Boko Haram Really Caused By Poverty ? by Nobody: 11:13am On May 25, 2012
I am a little perplexed. Please help me out gals and guys.

We are continually bombarded by the western media and some PC press in Nigeria that the main cause of Boko Haram and unrest in the North is a lack of education and depressing poverty.

My question is, why are the Christians not forming their own terror groups to make their grievances known to the government ? Surely in Kaduna we have a large Christian minority living in poverty and on less than a dollar a day, in Borno state we also have a sizeable Christian population. In the South we have nail biting poverty in many parts, yet no terrorism and even when we had the delta crisis, this was not directed at the innocent populace.

If Poverty was the cause of Boko Haram, then the whole of Nigeria should be in turmoil right now with all sorts of terror groups.

Why is one group more inclined to violence than the other.

For example , a true God fearing honest man or woman will work his/her way out of poverty not go and maim their next door neighbour.

Is Poverty just a camouflage to hide the real purpose of these fanatics ?
