KEY ACTIVITIES: (What gets done)
• Diagnose system problems in minimal time and make repairs.
• Make recommendations for improving service, reliability and performance of equipment.
• Gather and record machine information at regular intervals to monitor performance.
• Keep customer apprised of progress during remedial maintenance or during down system situation.
• Pre-site planning to included location and setup of spare parts and engineer office space.
• Escalate solving technical problems by seeking timely advice or assistance from technical support when necessary.
• Handle customers in a professional manner during difficult high-pressure situations.
• Document system problems and Preventative Maintenance (PM) performed in customer’s site log.
• Establish PM schedules and perform according to specifications.
• Submit appropriate spare parts paperwork on a weekly basis.
• Submit a weekly site status report to Team Leader and Service Manager.
• Spare parts annual inventory variance is less than 1%.
• Responsible for assisting with installing machines, Engineering Change Notices that effect current systems and upgrades. Hardware or software upgrades may require technical assistance on unusual or complex systems.
• Support maintenance activities and seek continued improvement of procedures and practices that reduce costs, while maintaining or enhancing customer satisfaction, quality, and service.
• Support and facilitate involvement of company initiatives such as Great Place to Work and My Contribution.
• Other duties as assigned.

Technical Diploma



Skills / Previous experience:
• 3 to 5 years of technical field experience preferably in high speed paper handling machines such as check sorters, mail sorters or currency sorters.
• Trained in the maintenance and repair of electro-mechanical machines.
• Understanding of AC/DC power distribution.
• Understanding of digital and analog circuitry.
• Ability to work with electronic schematics, logic diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Logical trouble shooting skills and capability to isolate problems at PCB or component level.
• Working knowledge in the operations of personal computers especially Microsoft office, navigation across network sites and email communication.
• Working knowledge of DOS and windows.
• Knowledge in the use of oscilloscopes, digital/analog meters and PC based tools and proficiency in the use of these tools.
• Basic understanding of air/vacuum systems.
• Reliability and dependability.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Good Organizational skills.
