CONTRARY to deniasl by the Presidency that President Goodluck Jonathan is not interested in running for a second term in 2015, Nation Daily competent sources has disclosed that the President's denial is a decoy to gain some mileage before he makes his intention known in about two years from now.
Our sources proceeded to disclose that the president denial is to enable him “sort out some contradictions in his reform policy and also build new friends across the geo-political regions.” The source continued, “Jonathan has been mandated by his kitchen cabinet and political advisers to contest the 2015 presidential election on the grounds that he is constitutionally entitled to a second tenure in office. It was also made clear to him that the decision is not his alone to make this time, he must consider the views of Niger Delta people, South-East and stakeholders across the country.”

National Daily learned that recently, former Minister for Information, Edwin Clark, and other leaders of Niger Delta visited Aso Rock where they discussed issues of national importance especially the 2015 presidency. Sources said that their visit was precipitated by the controversy the 2015 presidency has created and president's statement describing the 2015 issue as a distraction.

President Jonathan was reminded by Clark and his group that there is no much time to dilly-dally on the matter because “a new election begins immediately after the old one.” So, the President was advised to begin to gradually build his strategy and gather the manpower to outsmart the North from where a major opposition to his ambition is already coming. However, the President sources said in his reaction that he is presently faced with the enormous responsibility to tackling issues of national importance which includes fuel subsidy, pension scam, SEC scandal as well as delivering on his reform programme.

The President was said to have repeated that 2015 is still a long way and that he does not want to be distracted at this early stage of his first tenure in office. However, Jonathan explained that he has not counted himself out of the 2015 race but was only bidding his time.

National Daily gathered that an underground Jonathan 2015 strategy team has been constituted to sensitize influential politicians and to gather intelligence report on the true feelings of citizens across the country on the 2015 issue.

This mobilization team, according to the source, includes pre-eminent leaders of the geo-political zones, tested politicians and some serving and former governors who have all vowed to ensure they discharge their duties. “This project is very important to the President because it will have to enable him finally make up his mind when the time comes. He wants to know the political reality in the zones at least between now and early next year when the true picture of his political future would have started taking form.

National Daily learned that Jonathan is worried about the recent activities of certain Northern leaders who are talking as if 2015 is a do or die affair for the North.

“Jonathan is aware of all the meetings being held in the North concerning 2015. He is also studying the role Boko Haram may likely play on the matter,” sources said.

[b]The presidential political strategists believe that the South-East is a safe zone for him considering his role in giving late Biafran leader, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, a befitting burial and also given Jonathan's chummy relationships with Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, and Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime.

President is home and dry in the South-South zone where he remains popular as son of the soil. But the South-South zone alone cannot make him win a second tenure in office. “So, the president's political strategists are working to find out if the president allies in the North Central Zone are nursing presidential ambition. We are talking about people like Senate President David Mark and Senator Bukola Saraki. You know Saraki aligned with the President immediately after the 2011 presidential election. The South-West is a sophisticated zone. In 2011, they voted for Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the governorship election and voted for Jonathan during the presidential election. Now, the president has selected some influential politicians to act as his preliminary mobilisers in the zone. He hopes to make them vote for him again if he eventually makes up his mind to run for a second term. He has Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to contend in the North-East but there is hope that PDP Chairman, Bamanga Tukur, will neutralize Atiku.

There has been pressure by the core-North to convince various politicians from the North-West to declare their stand on 2015 presidency. For instance, the South-West is beckoning on Vice President Namadi Sambo from Kaduna State to begin the move to become the number one citizen on 2015,” sources said.

Part of the mandate of the President's Political Advisers is to infiltrate the opposition Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and ACN with a view to knowing their political direction in 2015. “The President wants to know if they are forming an alliance or they will go for total merger in the next election. He fears that the combination of General Muhammadu Buhari and Ahmed Bola Tinubu will be a potent threat to his ambition in 2015. So, he wants this mobilization team to get to the root of the matter now,” an informed source said.

National Daily gathered that the opposition parties may have started working ahead of 2015. It was learned that some ACN and CPC contact groups have been meeting with some eminent leaders of the group with intent to agree on a working agreement.

Sources said that “this informed the recent visit of the CPC leader Muhammadu Buhari to the house of the ACN leader to further discuss the matter. Buhari is aware that all eyes will be on him if he visits Tinubu at odd times. So, he chose the occasion of his 60th birthday to visit his Bourdellion Road residence in Victoria Island, Lagos, to have a heart to heart with Tinubu.”

Don't pay him any attention. There is a reason he is on "fstranger[size=14pt]6[/size]". This seems to be his reaction to whatever he reads - no matter what. I have never had any exchange with him (or may be he has other monikers) but he once replied out of the blue to a posting of mine, that was really benign, with all sort of "brain eruptions".

My take is there is something wrong with him. I see below that Mr. Beaf is already high-fiving such idiocy - birds of the same feather.
