The June edition of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) Lagos chapter’s meeting, held on Saturday 9th June 2012 at the Red brick building, Artists village, National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos. The poets in the house delighted members with their poetical rendition;
Betty Abah : “ A certain day – (dedicated to families of air crash victims worldwide) from her collection “Go tell our king”
A.J. Dagga Tolar “This much love” from his collection “Love in the memory of pain” Ralp Tagatha – “Dynamite”
Conrad Anidiobu – Ekiti Monkeys( inspired by the numerous monkeys in Ekiti during his service year)
Folu Agoi – Creepy Rival
Lari Williams – The lone walk
and spectacular performance from Bob Ekat (Winner of the Sentinel Centre Performance Poetry Award) from his collection “Tears from an Old man’s eyes”.

Olalekan Alabi read from his novel “The Rising Moonlight”. The theme of discussion for the month was “The Conflict between Man and Nature” with panelists; Sola Alamutu (seasoned Environmental activist/ Child Rights Advocate) and dealing with environmental issues for about 20 years, Betty Abah – Journalist and Environmentalist who has clinched various awards such as the (Nigeria Media Merit Award, The Diamond Award for Media Excellence) amongst others, and works with the Environmental Rights Initiative, Dagga Tolar doing justice to the topic. Lack of care/non interest on the part of the citizenry and corruption in government were seen as major problems causing environmental problems.
