Air Nigeria not grounded – Jimoh Ibrahim

Ibrahim, Wednesday, denied media reports
that the airline’s flight operations had been
been grounded by Nigerian Civil Aviation
Authority, NCAA.

Speaking to newsmen at the airline’s head
office in Lagos, Ibrahim said NCAA had no
reason to ground the operations of the airline, adding that the airline complied with all international standards safety regulations.
He showed journalists a memo to the airline by the Director, Airworthiness Standards, NCAA, Mr. Patrick Ekunwe, dated June 12, entitled, ‘Domestic and Regional Flight operations of Air Nigeria.’

He cautioned the media to always verify and
confirm any conflicting report from the airline for clarification, as that was the bedrock of good journalistic practice. The memo read, “Please be informed that Air Nigeria had been cleared by Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority to resume its normal domestic and regional flight
operations. Please, grant them the necessary
flight clearances accordingly.”

He explained that it was normal for NCAA to re-certify the aircraft of the airline after the one week strike embarked upon by workers,
because of welfare issues. He said, “Air Nigeria cannot be grounded. It is
the safest airline in Nigeria as at today. We
belong to IATA and we are audited by IOSA. We have been a member of IATA for the past six years and we are the oldest in the West Africa,”
he added.

guys i work under the man jimoh ibrahim and he is a badnews every establishment under him definitely sinks because all he is interested in is his money eg niconluxury .from the very moment he took over that place it has depreciated he canceled all end of year entitlements of staffs ,canceled their union and frustrated their union leaders into resigning ,,air nigeria now serves pure water in the plane trust me it is true he canceled the staff entitlements can u imagine buying tickets for a flight and there is no fuel in the plane .This are just but a few

Bros u got it right...Nnorom defrauded the company and was asked to resign honourably..He chose the part of spreading malicious information to divert attention from his fraudulent activities as Former Finance director...Air Nigeria is safe with air worthy aircrafts..as a matter of fact Air Nigeria and Arik remain the only 2 airlines in Nigeria to pass the IOSA safety audit- this audit is onducted by IATA which has the basic function of regulatin airline operations worldwide. If u want, just check it out on IATA website or better still google IOSA airlines registry and look for any other airline in Nigeria apart from the two i mentioned....
