I gained admission some 10 yrs back via IJMB. Its not easy then and now its not easy still. IJMB is an A level stuff. It ought to run 4 say 2 years but is crashed into 8-12 months. If U are intelligent and ready to work, study, etc, tyen its 4 u. Once u scale thru U apply as a direct entry candidate with yur O&A level results direct to 200level. Most schools in the North accept the IJMB result but some schools in the south do not. IJMB is actually a programme of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. I advise that U do ur personal findings in respect of the details. Some centres in Lagos, Ilorin, Ijebu, etc run the programme. Passing IJMB is no guarantee 4 admission u still have to pray & do some follow up work. Visit the admisssion office and HOD of the school you want to apply to 4 enquiries. They are human and will respond to your questions straight. You can even ask 4da questions on admission, collect their fone numbers and network. Do proper follow up because we all have things that we are working on and if you do not follow up they may forget U. Goodluck.

Thanks so much for the explanation. Well, IJMB is much easier now coz i did mine 2yrs ago and some schools in the west have started accepting it but am so gratefull for the enlightenment.....

I'm an IJMB student who just finished the program this year May. Its an 18months program but mine lasted fora year cos of strike. It is not easy but it is the easiest way for admission especially in Northern universities. Back then I bought my form for #800 directly from one of the centres in Kano (CAS). It runs for two semester; the first semester exam is promotional that's where they withdraw and repeat the unserious ones. In the second semester, there is an exam called Mid sectional which is a must as it comprises of 20% of the overall 100% in which the final exam takes 80%.

They have different subject combination depending on the course I.e. I for instance chose Law, and I did Govt,Lit and Irs. Only three subjects for all students, but there is an option for english and maths for those who lack that in there O'level. Inshort, it is a great programme and they will start enrolling soon. Those who finished there exam this year, the result will be released this month hopefull). I pray we all pass...

Let me put a summary of how it is graded;

A - 70% above
B - 60 - 69
C - 50 - 59
D - 45- 49
E - 40 - 44
F -39 below

So,
A = 5points
B = 4poins
C = 3points
D = 2points
E = 1point
F = 0

Note that; the minimum requirement before you are qualified pass is 8points, anything below that is not accepted. The highest point is 16 (initially 15 but a bouns 1point for those who passed).
I.E; C= 3pts
C= 3pts
C= 3pts
Total = 9 + 1pts extrs, making 10pts (passed)
