faithpeace:I had similar issue with my girl, her soft spot was open from front straight to the back. I didn't even know it was one mummy that called my attention to it. She was like a week then. I was scared to the marrow. Different thoughts filled my mind, I touched almost every 30 minutes. And I told my young mummy about it, she was scared too. But the woman that told me said I shouldn't be scared that it will close up, that I shouldn't allow it to get dry. Meaning I should be dropping baby's oil from time to time. That's what I did and I make sure she suck without ceasing to avoid dehydration. To the Glory of God, it has closed o remaining the normal front baby's soft spot. Even the one@d back is closed too. Reason for my epistle is to assure you that it will close up. And u can visit the hospital for check up, to free your mind but I am assuring you there is no cause for alarm. Just breastfeed regularly and avoid dryness of that place. You urself will come back here to tell us it has closed up. No cause for alarm. 4 Likes |

Oya let me train you people the teacher's way to potty training. I won't say this again ó, I don't strength for epistles these days.... Unless you will pay Sha So this is what we do. To make potty training easy, the child should be at least 15-18m. They can make small speech and respond to yes or no. First step. Like someone said earlier, familiarization. Get the child to know the potty. Different people do it differently. Some do it by sitting on the potty and making it seem like fun. If you have an older child with you, let them take toilet breaks together. Once the child sits on the potty without fuss... Move on to step 2. Vocabulary: would you like to use the bathroom, let's go pee, I need to use the toilet, pee. Objective is to link the potty to pee. Note that this stage is the hardest for the child and once they pass this stage, all the work is yours. Step 2: Time the pee. Once the child can sit on the potty, let him sit every hour. With or without giving you any sign. It is believed that at this time they can control their bladder (cue: dryer diapers unlike months ago) Ideally we do it every 30 minutes at the beginning. At first, the child won't pee in the potty but pee immediately after standing from potty. Give it time. Let the child sit on potty for like 2-5 minutes every 30 minutes. The moment the child makes his first every pee, be prepared to move on to the stage 2 of Step 2 Stage 2 is timing the bladder. Does he make a pee every 30 minutes immediately he hits the potty? Stretch the time to 45 minutes. You want to train him on bladder control too. Does he make a pee in his diapers before the 45 minutes is up? And doesn't tell you he wants to? Give it time. Stage 3, shift time to 1h intervals. If he's still maintaining a dry diaper and wee in the potty then you are ready for Step 3. Vocabulary : let's go make a pee, *insert name* make a pee. Did you make a wee? This stage is the hardest for parents. Timing will be missed, tempers will rise but keep calm and keep your eyes on the goal. Step 3: Now the child is familiar with the potty, wees or poos in it, diapers are dry. Now, you need to child to indicate when he needs to go. Ask before taking the child to the bathroom. Trust his answer. *would you like to make a wee? " Do you want to use the potty? Are you sure? If he says yes and truly makes a wee, then praise the Lord, you have graduated. If he says no but goes ahead and make a wee, express your displeasure. "you need to tell me you want to make a wee" "you need to wee in the potty" "big boys wee in the potty" And you keep at this till you graduate. For steps 1 through 3, I'll advise you use training pants. It's easier to pull up or down unlike your diapers and it serves as transition into the pant Era. Once you have stayed in the graduation stage for up to at least once week, it's time to move to the next stage. Pants only stage. Ditch the pull up and get cotton pants. Now your child will give you the sign of pee, watch out for it. Some turn around in circles Some lock legs Some stay still Some say gibberish.... Like eee, ooo, or anything, keep your ears opened for it. Some go to the door Some jiggle on the spot Take the cue and make a race for the potty. Remember to ask the child at every hour and always trust the answer. When the child says yes, don't say which kain yes, you just went a few minutes ago, some of them can't control bladder till well over 10y, some will never be able to keep urine in for longer than 40 minutes. When the child says no, don't counter with you're saying no now, Abeg go an piss. The goal is to teach the child to let us know when he needs to go and if the child doesn't trust you to believe him, you might have issues. Last stage of this step is the day your child tells you "pee" or poo and truly does it!!! Bring out the drums. Your work here is done Step 1 is dependent on the child and the time can't be quantified. Child is ready when he is ready. Step 2 should take around 2 to 4 weeks. Depending on how consistent you are. Step 3 should take about a month. So in total, at most by 3m you should be done potty training. Remember to always wear diapers to bed for the child till the child wakes up with a dry diaper for about 1 week straight. You can also put child to potty in the middle of the night but make it once or twice so that you don't disrupt his sleep pattern. Also put in mind that a child in Step 3 can go all the way back to Step 1. Shiiit happens. It may be a one off thing, it might be a regular thing. If it becomes regular and you notice a change in behavior of the child then that child is telling you something, either the child is undergoing trauma or needs attention. If it's a one off thing, be very firm with expressing your displeasure (don't beat o remember we are talking about 2yo here) so the child isn't tempted to try it again. Advice: even if you don't need this now, save it. I won't answer this question again even if you cc me o Advert: I sell Asda little angels pull up pants. And if you're worried about delivery fee, you can pick up at Ajao Estate, Lekki and Surulere. I also sell Tom Brown with/out crayfish, fish, ground nut and soyabeans for just 400N per pack.
