Anyway the solution that worked Wash hair with sebamed shampoo Then use pears baby oil ( it has olive oil in it) After like 2 or 3 days u will see it leaving the scalp. Just comb it out... 2 Likes |

Please mama for us all #Vaginal #Douching: #Helpful or #Harmful? #Facts and #Fallacies #Introduction The practice of douching is common in some clime while it is completely alien in some. For some women, this will be the first time of hearing about the term, while for some they might have a vague idea. Douching is very common in westernized world, matter of fact, an estimated 20% to 40% of American women between ages 15 and 44 say they use a vaginal douche. Studies showed that higher rates are seen among teens especially African-American and Hispanic women. Majority of women who indulge in this practice believe that besides making them feel fresher, it also helps get rid of unpleasant odors, wash away menstrual blood after their period, avoid getting sexually transmitted diseases, and prevent a pregnancy after intercourse. However it is important to note, “All these claims are not evidence based. Majority of renowned health experts advise against douching and believe it is not effective for any of these purposes mentioned above. On the contrary douching can actually increase the risk of infections, pregnancy complications, and other health problems. #What is douching? The word ''douche'' is French in origin and it means “to wash'' or ‘‘soak.’ This is the practice of washing the vagina, usually with a mixture of water and vinegar. Douches, commonly sold in drugstores and supermarkets contain antiseptics and fragrances. This comes in a bottle or bag and is sprayed through a tube upward into the vagina. #What are the advantages if any of douching? To the users, they say douching makes them feel cleaner. However there is, though, very little scientific evidence of benefit from douching. The rare positive research that does exist often has a downside. One study found that douching during the six months before pregnancy reduced the risk of preterm delivery. However, in that same study, douching during pregnancy was linked to an increased risk of preterm birth. So, overall, both cancels out. #What are the disadvantages of douching? Based on research findings, the overall risks of douching far outweigh the benefits. Here are just a few of the problems linked to douching: 1• Vaginal infections (bacterial vaginosis). Douching upsets the natural balance of bacteria in the vagina (called vaginal flora). These changes make the environment more favorable for the growth of bacteria that cause infection. Studies have found that women who stopped douching were less likely to have bacterial vaginosis. Having bacterial vaginosis can increase the risk of preterm labor and endometriosis. 2• Pelvic inflammatory disease Research has found that women who douche may have a 73% higher risk of getting PID. 3• Pregnancy complications. Women who douche more than once a week have more difficulty getting pregnant than those who don't douche. Douching may also increase the risk of ectopic pregnancy by as much as 76%. With an ectopic pregnancy, the embryo implants outside the uterus. The more a woman douches, the greater the risk of having an ectopic pregnancy. 4• Cervical cancer . Douching at least once a week has been linked to a possible increased chance of developing cervical cancer #So Should a woman douche? According to health experts, including those at the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), you should avoid douching. They generally advised that having some vaginal odor is normal. However, if you notice a very strong odor, it could be a sign of infection. The acidity of the vagina will naturally control bacteria, and simply washing the vagina with warm water and mild soap is enough to keep clean. #TeamAskTheGynaecologist# 2 Likes |

[quote author=firsttymum post=42402283] I react to milk too. I'm doing great. Give him multivitamin. Vitabiotics has well kids... Good luck [/quoti I sometimes give my baby cereals without milk and he takes it well especially Gerber so u can try it. BTW I don't think your baby has lactose intolerance because there is lactose in breast milk n he tolerates it. what I would advice is to reduce the quantity of milk u add to his cereals or buy milk that has little or no lactose like isomil. |

@Firsttymum, very sad news indeed but thanks for sharing. We mothers should be careful and be prayerful as well. I always warn my minders not feed my baby while he's crying or even force feed at all. Calm him down first and then feed. Thank God my children have always had voracious appetite. Pls let's be mindful of this aspiration and even choking of a thing. Tatacherie, mama, you have been MIA. Hope your cute bunnie is doing fine. Happy vigilante |

imnuflawal:Why feed a 9month old with complan She should still be on infant formula. That's probably the major cause of her stooling ish. Read the nutritional info and compare it to that of infant milk & even ordinary whole milk. My 3 year old started taking complan when she was ill & I noticed it has changed the composition of her poo, so I stopped it. Pls mothers, complan is not for toddlers or infants!!! It's boldly written on the can!!! 2 Likes |

tatacherie:First, my son had a few jerkings too when he was younger but it passed after a while. I just hold him and rock him gently when he does that. Secondly, for the stomach it may be gas. Also you might want to reduce the formula to water ratio as advised by a mum here. Third, for the sound in the chest I'll advice u see a paediatrician. My son had same though after a cough and catarrh period so we saw a doc and he gave us some antibiotics. We also had an X-ray to rule out any issue. He was fine after the antibiotics. Lastly, I can't really say anything about the wrist as I have no experience in that. Other mamas can help... God bless u 1 Like |

Eudora: As for Q1..my son too did that at about 3days old..but I noticed it was whenever we were at the hospital bcz he had jaundice and we were always going for checks..the waiting room is usually very cold..when I observed it..and I always sat close to the window where sun rays can touch him..I covered him more too.. I may be wrong though..just go see a doc to be sure |

@ tatacherie good to know you and LO are doing well. About the ration of water to formula, please don't reduce it. Follow the instruction on the tin. I've read somewhere and also been adviced by a Dr that reduction or increment of the ration can make a baby to become I'll over a period of time. Have you considered changing the formula to another brand? My first 2 kids took SMA gold and they were fine. Started with SMA for the 3rd and constipation was bad. Would poo once in 6-7 days. Switched to Frisolac, same issue. With Nan it was 1ce in 5 days. It hurt to see him suffer so much but I wasn't lactating well and couldn't afford high end formula more expensive than SMA gold and Frisolac. Hubby then suggested My Boy eldorine. Initially I refused vehemently(don't know why I had always looked down on it back then). But watching my baby suffer constipation coupled with a paed's advice to switch again,i tried My Boy and men, his bowel movement got better. It was the first brand I tried for my twins and they've been fine. Now i'm not advising you switch to my boy. I'm suggesting you try another brand. What works for one baby may not work for another. I know mums whose LO's experienced the opposite of what my 3rd experienced with SMA and Nan. The brand you're using just might not be suitable for your LO. And if you do decide to switch to any other brand, buy only 1 tin first(just in case it may not work for your baby) and observe closely for reactions within 3days. Pele dear. Don't worry by the time your LO hits the 2-3months mark, she would have developed a pattern that you understand and hopefully would be convenient for you. Kisses to her. 3 Likes |
