Warfibabe: thanks but I am not new to the hydrocortisone cream.. As a matter of fact I have used the hydrocort cream before when my older son had severe rash due to allergies. It was prescribed by my paed. It cleared the rash in no time. I really don't know how strong it is cus I neva asked my paed. But my son seem fine with it, though like blank pointed out, I also use it sparingly. For nappy rash I have always used a small cream called vegas, or I just powder the spot with agnesia powder.
Thanx 4pointin dat out.I don't knw wot d fuss is al abt in usin 1% hydrocot cream.Big hugs dear

honey86: Actually it is very strong. To be able to buy it in the UK. u need a doctor's prescription. it was probably prescribed to you because of the severity of your baby's condition.
Forget UK&Ireland.Common 2buy cough syrup 4myself,they asked 4prescription.Hmmm

It is only in Nigeria dat negligence is tolerated frm drs&health professionals because no body sues their a**.My maternal anty did goitre surgery at a particular teachin hospital in Nigeria&they mistakenly cut off her vocal cord&sh cudn't breath without a tube&talk sef.Sh was flown 2UK 4reconstructiv surgery&i remember d drs there sayin a lot of s**ts abt Nigerian drs&Nigerian hospitals.D indian dr managin my anty's case said sh was their 1st case study;dat they'v neva seen anythng lik dat b4;such expensiv mistak comin frm a surgeon. If I tel u wot my anty went thru?Sh underwent abt 7 reconstructiv surgeries ova d yrs.Imagine d bills (in pounds as against naira)&d trauma&evryother thng, just because of d dr's mistak. My anty said d Nigerian surgeon was usin her 2 teach wen he opened her up.If its abroad,u can sue&recover d money u spent but here in Naija??U'r on ur own. So I don't put al my trust in drs.I put half in dem&then half in ppl who hav had experiences

Hello mothers in the house. I just stumbled on this forum and am learning a lot. I am panicking right now because of what I just read here concerning immunization. My son is 12 weeks old and he wasn't given the rotavirus and pneumoccal (pcv) vaccine. We would be going for his next immunization in 2 weeks time and I want to know if its late for him to be given these vaccines? I feel I have been a bad mum by not finding out about this.

Hi, I'm naturally a slim lady, but breastfeeding also took a toll on me, and I got way too skinny. So I went 2 a pharmarcy 2 complain and I was told 2 buy 'Pregancare breastfeeding' a pck contains drugs for a month, and there was a significant change afterwards. Aldou its a bit expensive, I bought it 4500. That's what I did, I'm sure other mothers that knows other means will still let you know. Cheers!
. Thank u dear, just that am not all that use to taken drugs. i want natural remedy.

No be lie! It should make her add. I had to learn to take kunu bc of breastmilk, but bc of it's tendency of making one add weight, I see it as 'poison' now!

Kunu is gud for breastmilk bt to avoid bin fat, take kunu without sugar. I have someone that makes it for me here in abuja and she makes the one with sugar and the one without sugar mostly for breastfeeding mothers, depending on you choice. But you can also make pap from jero or oka baba here in the north we call it dawa. Let it be watery and always take it hot without sugar bt u can add milk.

For raw pap, u can store it in the bowl/bucket u used 2 prepare it & cover it with enough water, change the water EVERYDAY to avoid smell. In fact change the water everytime you take from the pap, this keeps it fresh & prevents fermenting for a longer time. As I said earlier, its recomended to hold off introducing milo till a year, but most mums start @ 6months.

Hello mummies, my daughter will soon be 1 year old and intend stopping breastfeeding soon, what is the best way to stop, naturally or with drugs, I read that those drugs used for drying up milk can cause cancer in the future, any one with a different view, I heard stopping naturally is usually very painful too

My dear,I won't com here&say wot sure of.Nobody sees d peadiatrician morethan I do.As a matter of fact,I pay 5k 4each visit. My baby's teethin coms wit rash&fever&sh said I shld use hydrocortisone cream 4d rash&piriton 4d itchin&ibuprofen 4d fever.Afta 3days,d rash usually goes away so i stop.If u read wot I posted;I told her,d way I mixed d cream,it last 4me(not dat evrythng at once)&my baby's rash usually disappears within 2-3days if u use it mornin&nyt.FYI;d hydrocortisone cream contains only 1% hydrocort so it can neva b dat harmful d way u'r makin it sound.I am well educated&i do my research as much I can&i knw dat prolonged use of steroid is not good likewise anyother drug too.Nobody held a gun 2anybody's head 2say u must do wot's posted on dis trend.D whole idea of dis trend is 2share ideas&opinions. If ur child is havin a life threatenin condition,u go&c a dr.This trend has helped a lot of ppl includin me.Kudoooooos 2al mothers contributin meaningfully 2dis trend

Abeg, no vex. I just said you should have pointed out to her that she needs to be quite careful with it. No wahala. We are all just sharing experiences.

As per stopping breastfeeding,do it gradually so that it won't be so painful,u can start by breastfeeding only at nite for a couple of days, this wil reduce d flow of milk, afterwards stop breastfeeding completely, this way is better than using drugs, and wen u stop try not to use a hot cloth to massage d breast oo

Pls do not take any drugs except paracetamol that is when u av started weaning.I wont lie it is indeed painful especially when you av a big breast like me#lol#and pls don't drink hot water or massage ur breast with hot water cos it wud just make u produce more milk and don't extract d milk as well cos ur body wud also produce milk.I used hot water and I felt so much pain that I started crying,my breast was so big and painful (this was for a week) I didn't know I was using d wrong method until someone told me about 'ice block'and when I used it,d next day my milk dried up(its just like when u r using ice block 4 a swollen part of d body)also stay away from pap or foods u eat that made u produce much milk and pls talk 2 ur doctor about it

Pls missmishel, doctors had advised mothers 2 stop using silver bird for their children especially on their fontanelle ( d soft spot on their head),I didn't know until last 2yrs when I gave birth 2 my 2nd child cos I used it 4 my 1st child, they confirmed that it was 2 strong 4 babies and it actually killed some babies.

Sorry for the stress and pressure. my son also refused bottle initially but wit patience and perseverance I succeeded. Initially I didnt push it and was using spoon(as doctors advise now), but it wasnt fun at all then I tried bottle again. I'll alow him get a litle very hungry and I wont put him to breast but will use the bottle and leave it in his mouth even if he doest suck. After a while he will suck jst small. I reduced putting him on breast for while instead I expressd and giv him mysef or my mum does so he knws he had no option. Now he takes it very well and is still using bottle.

Heard not all children accept it but I pray yours do soon.
