Hello everyone,
my first time commenting here. I have been a silent follower for some months now. The information I gain from this forum is always helpful. I must commend every one who has made input here. I appreciate greatly.
@Onegai...your post on hair handling was really educating. please I want to ask these questions
1. when you say don't wash the hair frequently, does that include when bathing ? I wash my baby's hair during her bath with her bathing soap. I want to commence use of shampoos and conditioner when she turns 6months. she is 4months+
2. then my baby has full thick hair. usually looks rough after a while. so for church and other random events,I normally make it in tiny mounds (though I make sure it isn't tight ) . is 4months early to do so?
3. at one side of her head, she has a little patch. quite negligible. very little because when I comb through,it gets covered up and is hardly noticed. will it even out as she grows?
I know this is too much for a first time post. my apologies☺☺. thank you

1. Don't use baby soap, it's drying. Even when bathing you can put water on it and condition after. You don't need to wash daily with shampoo unless she constantly gets dirty (food, very heavy sweating, swimming in chlorinated water etc). You can use baby shampoo at any age (we started before 6 months). Some people use African Black soap (Which is milder than Dudu Osun). Herbalists will know it.

2. 4 months is pretty tender-headed for puffs IMO (especially if you're using rubberbands). There are easier styles or just leave it and put a big loose hairband around it. She will still look cute. If you're sure the puffs aren't tight, it's your decision to make.

3. It should grow out as long as nothing is causing the hair there to fall out. The patches on my kid's hair is slowly growing out.

Alright. thanks a whole lot.
I don't use rubber bands anyway. I use those tiny wool bands. I think I will chill with the hair making (my mum suggested I wait till 6months ) Guess I will have to imbibe the suggestion.

Good day mamas, I really appreciate the help u all r rendering to each other. May God bless each n every one of u. this is actually my first time posting here.. I have some questions that really keeps me worried.

1. Is it normal for a baby to jus start refusing to suck bosom milk. I ask dis cos my lo started doing this abt a month ago. Each time I try to feed him, he starts to scream, stretches n moves his face away like 'get this thing outa ma face'. Had to introduce formula because of this and I even have to force feed him the formula, I also have to force feed him pumped breastmilk. I have a manual pump wch I use to express bt I don't really get much with it. So pls I want to know if this is him trying to wean himself.

2. When I started giving him formula, I started with nan bt he wouldn't poo for like 3 days n even wen he does, he strains to poo n it's usually very thick, so I decided to change to aptamil. This made him start pooing up to 5 times in 24hrs.i only gave him the aptamil the day I bought it like 3 times, poo started dt day.had to switch back to the nan the nxt day. It's been 4 days now n he still poos up to abt 5times. Is this normal pls or do I need to take him to a pead?

3. When do babies eyes start to bring out tears cos there's usually no tears when he cries. He's 19 weeks

Am soooo sorry for the long post.. Pls help a confused ftm

Some babies wean themselves but since he is accepting the breastmilk in a feeding bottle, please continue. I wasn't getting much too with a manual breast pump until i switched to an electric pump (evenflo).
For the formula and poop issue, i think you should talk to a pead and even administer ORS. According to babycentre, the average for tears is 2-4months. Are you giving him water since you commenced formula? He may be dehydrating so please talk to your pead.
Mamas how una dey, its been long i've been here. No one missed me...abi? nggie and sheweezy, our LOs will soon clock one o. Mine is yet to walk though he gets up and stands on his own, na just to comot leg remain. Has yours started walking?

from my calculation, the ideal weight for your baby at 6 weeks with 2.57kg birth weight is 3.53kg. Right now, she is 3.4(i am guessing you measured without pampers) which is 96% of expected. Your Baby is absolutely fine.

Personally, I will not give it to my baby. I will be so uneasy and will worry that any little problem is due to the milk. Instead of discarding it, you can use it for your older kid's breakfast eg tea or pancake or something. My opinion though #nofoodisawaste#

Did u take him to a paediatrician to certify him underwight? If i may ask what is his current weight?

A paediatrician will be in d better position to examine him n gv necessary advise on how to increase his weight.

yes i did, his weight is 6kg at 7months 3weeks 2day. Without being told, he is underweight.

AdaBiafra, how often do you feed him?
Do you add milk to his cereals even the ones plus milk.
Give him egg yolk.
When you mix his pap, add a little butter.
Titus fish is sweet and oily. If he can eat half in a day, that's good.
BM all thru the night after eating a solid dinner.

My 6 months old fluctuates between 6-6.5 kg, buh she doesnt look underweight. V

Comtem2011, please dont give that baby, expiry date is just to show the shelf life. Once you open any product, air and its content interact with it and it begins to lose value or worse gets contaminated.
Personally, I wouldnt give my less than 2 years old such.

Mamas, Pls if your instinct is tell your something isn't right, pls try as much as possible to follow your instinct.

My Story : for like 3wks, my instinct have been tell me my housegirl is pregnant, I brushed it aside, thinking how can, but my mind kept on telling, I had to ask her, she told me No aunty, am not pregnant, even with that I couldn't get it off my mind, so on Saturday, all thru the night I was really disturb and I was really dreaming about her,I just told God, show me who this girl is, y is she on mind even in my dream, I saw her sitting alone, looking tattered and disturb(that was in my dream) also crying. I woke up, it was pass 5am, My mind told me walk out gentle and I went to check on her, I saw her in the backyard Vomiting seriously, I was shocked, i ask her y she was vomiting, she said malaria, but I didn't believe her. I started questioning her, and she confessed she was indeed pregnant, Mamas I was shocked, I thank God she didn't abort in my house or anything bad happened to her, what will I have done? Mama that is my story o.
P.S no more housegirl for now, am taking my little angel to creche. I will manage with house chores.Am emotionally about this issue especially thinking about if she had aborted and died shocked. I really thank God.
