@rofemiguwa, my LO is 7week and started having the rash before we left the hospital, the dr advised not to use anything on her skin again, that is I no longer use baby oil, lotion, powder etc after she baths just bath and dress up. You need to watch out on the handling of ur lo's cloths disinfect when rinsing, and iron thoroughly be4 ur lo wears the cloths. If she is the type that sweats like mine ensure ur wear light cloths for her or put her in a well ventilated room. I didn't do all these andd rash on my lo got infected and the doc had to recommend mupiderm ointment. Don't worry your lo will be fine. 1 Like |

DrAda: I would love to know how to tell age from teeth because it just seemed random to me. My first son had one tooth before the other and had complete 20 teeth by 26months whilst my second had 2 teeth first, then a second set of 2 teeth all up and then had full 20 teeth by 19months. |

babythug: That's why you should cloth diaper. As long as there is a washing machine, detergent and sunlight (you don't even need bleach, hot water and our Naija hellfire, I mean sunshine ), you will never calculate how much diaper costs. We only use disposable at night and we can reuse the clothe diapers for other babies too. All the people laughing at me when I started are now like "oh it makes sense!". 2 Likes |

IryNky: Yes you can, you can use it from newborn (though I wouldn't because newborn poop is meconium and hard to wash out). For more info, please do a search and Google it, people have written a lot about it (can't type now). HUH. |

Chinwendym: Ma'am, My DS also had it and I went the way of ampiclox when he was about 5 months as prescribed by his paed, it was administered every 8 hours but just 2.5 ml and for a period of 5 days. It dried off from within but as from 6 months+, it reappeared, I then went the way of the red leaf in bathing him ONLY, because it comes and goes. I also ensure he wears loose clothing as occasion demands ( i do this often)and keep him as fresh as possible not forgetting using savlon for his bathing and laundry of his dresses. Baby tribotan didn't work for me, baby tetmosol did at a point and stopped but his Johnson baby works for him. As for d hard part when it bursts, DS had plenty, I apply Shea butter so it loosens out and dries. MIL said its occurs to babies that would be plus weight and some babies just use that to bring out teeth instead of falling ill and encouraged more use of the red leaf. . 2 Likes |

Someone please help me with the page number where I can find food options for my six month old! Also is the semo and milk ideal for a six month old? How about wheat and milk? I've tried pap and milk he did enjoy it but I don't won't to limit him on that. Has anyone tried boiled egg york mashed in milk? Nurtrend and cerelac which is preferred! Are both the same thing? Cos I gave him nutrend today and he didn't like it. My questions plenty make una no vex. Olubankemi congrats my sister! How r the twins doing? May God watch over them in Jesus name. |

Chinwendym: A lot of babies like fruits. Before offering fruits to your baby, make sure they are ripe, and wash well before peeling. Fresh vegetables should be washed, peeled and cooked until tender. Here are some Nigerian favorites. Mashed bananas Mashed avocado Boiled mashed apples Freshly squeezed oranges Boiled mashed sweet potatoes (Can be served with mashed boiled egg yolk and butter) Boiled mashed white potatoes (Can be served with mashed boiled egg yolk and butter) Boiled mashed yam (Can be served with mashed boiled egg yolk and butter) Boiled mashed plantain Boiled mashed carrots Boiled mashed pumpkin Next add meat and fish Babies often prefer well-cooked chicken, which is soft and easy to eat when shredded. Meat may be too hard for your baby to eat, so you can introduce that much much later. Be careful to remove even the tiny bones when serving fish. Grains and cereals If you use choose to use imported baby cereal, make sure that they only have one ingredient to begin with and use either water or breast milk or formula for mixing. Soft boiled white rice can also be served with stews of your choice. Boiled mashed peeled beans (Remove the skins from beans as they tend to be harder to digest) Yoghurt There are many brands of imported yoghurt in the country that are suitable for babies. Traditional Nigerian foods Sometimes a Nigerian baby’s first food is often Amala and Ewedu. Some mothers also offer local staples like eba, semo, pounded yam with okro, ogbono and other draw soups. You can gradually begin to introduce local Nigerian foods when eating by dipping your clean hands into stews or soups and rubbing it on your baby’s tongue. Some mothers also offer custard, soft mashed noodles but this is usually not recommended as these foods are highly processed. Please note that babies under a year should not be given honey as it carries the risk of botulism. 9 Likes 8 Shares |

Long time mamas, I've not be here in a while o and I'm sure no one missed me Pls when giving our babies eggs, ensure its the yolk only. I didn't know and gave me DD eggs ( the white plus yolk) three weeks ago and 1 hr later she started vomiting, her eyes were red, big red rashes all over her body and she was itching real bad. We ended up going to the hospital & Dr said it was hives ("Urticaria, also known as hives, is an outbreak of swollen, pale red bumps or plaques (wheals) on the skin that appear suddenly -- either as a result of the body's reaction to certain allergens, or for unknown reasons" ) Anyway, no eggs here till she turns one. 2 Likes 2 Shares |
