Football has evolved and developed so much and this hasn’t happened without players being the dominant factor for this unprecedented growth. Modern day football has been filled with so much anticipation, regrets and happiness, we have seen players do outstanding things and have left everyone breathless. We can all recall, even when many were not born but have seen videos of football legends – Pele and Maradona. They had their moments and they were the center of past football rivalry. Fastfowrard to today, the rivalry still exists and this one between Ronaldo and Messi has gone on for too long, an end isn’t even on the horizon since the 2010 world cup didn’t produce any spectacular player that could turn media attention for two of current football greatest.

For more than 6-years I have watched the great players and my mind is certain, Lionel Messi for me is a better player than Ronaldo and it is rather unfortunate that C. Ronaldo vs Messi: Dribbling/Control/Technique

Both Ronaldo and Messi have great control over the ball and are capable of giving hamstring to any careless defender. Ronaldo dribbles so brilliantly, he is fast and knows how to dance with the ball leaving the defender clueless. Conversely, Messi, uses his low center of gravity to make quick latteral movements while dribbling, which makes it seem like the ball is permanently glued to his foot. One of the major differences between both of them is that Ronaldo dances in one spot to attract the defender into making a poor tackle while Messi goes straight into his opponent at a very fast pace.

Verdict: Ronaldo tends to waste more time trying to make the defender look foolish, in instances where Messi will naturally pull a fast trick to get away from the defender as soon as possible.

Lionel Messi for me is a better player than Ronaldo and it is rather unfortunate that C. Ronaldo was born when Lionel Messi is alive.

Cristiano Ronaldo is no doubt one of the best free-kick takers in modern day football, he has one of the most powerful shots and uses his very own unique shooting style when taking free-kicks. Messi on the other hand effectively utilizes the typical way to curl the ball with the inside of his left foot that almost always manages to beat the keeper.
