I just want to believe that the actual season for the ban is not stated. The truth remains that the Ghanian film potrays a lot of nudity, which has negative influence in children of this country-Nigeria.

As for me o ban or not I don't like both our naija english home video let alone ghana's. I prefer watching yoruba films cos there are very enlightening and educating. I learn so much from it.

This kind of attitude will help promote the progress of Africa.. We are so dumb in helping ourselves, while Bollywood and Hollywood films are scattered all over the continent, we are at each others throat.

omo talkatives.........these are not new. nigerian can talk meaningless things. instead of you to put rules that will make money from; you here praising yourself from banning ghanaian movies? Ghana did not banned nigeria movie but rather trying to stop the piracy THAT was rampard on nigeria movie. in ghana, it is soo hard pirate ghanaian movie which the ghanaian movie ind. wanted that to applied to nigerian movie but the nigerian are not helping matters; what you people should do is to work on the piracy system to make the movie industry attractive. Nobody hate nigerian in ghana; rather a nigeria will do something that will bring hate on them....the yorubas and the nothernes are exceptional; whenever there is an insult to any nigerian, the eastherns are always a victims (sori to say so).... always get a good source before you speak rubish here. I like Ghana movies but they overdo stuffs in their movie too.
I was watching a ghana movie one day when one actress made a disgusting s-exual advance on another actor that had me exclaiming, it was very disgusting---Some persons that sell soft s-ex movies and music in the ntertainment industry failed to understand that a woman is sexier with some modicum of modesty. When it goes overboard and extreme, it becomes pure Mgbekeism/archaic/unrefined and that is where the Ghana movie makers are fast racing to.

I don't like that the two film industries of this two countries are warring please let us love and patronize each other's industry. Eschew bitterness and rancour please.

BIG LIER.......IS THAT WHY YOU CANNOT READ AND UNDERSTAND?
NOW READ IT:
GUTA is seeking to enforce Act 478 of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC)that bars foreigners from petty trading, hawking or selling from a kiosk at any place reserved as a market. The law stipulates that any foreigner who wants to engage in retailing must first invest an initial $300,000. As a 3-month ultimatum given to the non-Ghanaians in the retail business elapses on Thursday, the Chairman of the Inter-Agency Task Force on non-Ghanaians in Retail Business, Kofi Larbie has revealed that they would start clamping down on those businesses on Monday, June 24.

The task force comprise of institutions such as Registrar General's Department, Ghana Investment Promotions Center, Ghana Revenue Authority, Immigration Service, Police Service, Ministry of Trade and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to Francis Abban, some non-Ghanaians however called on the task force to extend the ultimatum to ensure that they get enough time to fully shut down their enterprises.

Drock4christ: The association has also resolved to halt the distribution of films produced by non-professionals. It insists that if such film(s) must be distributed at all, its right of ownership should be transferred to its members on negotiation.

any of their members who failed to compile with this new order will either be prosecuted or have his goods confiscated by the association.

This is unconstitutional, illegal and an anathema in a democratic society that is modeled on free enterprise.
Nigeria is filled with too many groups organized to regulate their market place to the detriment of potential competitors and the public at larger.

Accountants, engineers, petroleum distributors, spare parts sellers etc all have one form of this usurpation or the other working to distort the market place making consumers pay higher prices for lower quality. It leads to unemployment and slower growth.

Even if backed by law it still remains unconstitutional. We need to learn how free societies operate. Our psyche has been militarized.

There is truly magic in the free market.

You guys are so rude and refuse to read,in Ghana its stated that certain business are for Ghanaians only,so if you go ahead to partake in those businesses what do you expect us to do to you?
We will not kill as it was done in South Africa(Xenophobic attack) but ask you politely to disengage in those businesses or be forced to do so and thats whats going to happen.
Stop telling lies and speak the truth, you were given grace period of three months.

if i'm missing somethin pls fill me in. Which standard is dt? Is it the hyping that mostly proved impracticable or the ever continuous immoral scenes. I for one has never been their fan in movies. When they started, we all can see it was an exact story of previous movies in nigeria, later, they jumped to the immorality aspect. And come to think of it, the best movie in ghana is produced by nigerians so shut it pls.

Its a big lie,i am not a fan of those movies but i see them in Ghanaian movie shelves anytime i go out.
it's banned doesn't mean it can't be smuggled in.

Imagine little Ghana, wonders shall never end. Dont u guys knw dat shud Nigeria cough, Ghana wud definitely catch pneumonia? U guys shud better go and ask Benin, ur fellow banana rep, what happnd 2 them when they tried 2 rub shoulders wit us (it was during OBJ's tenure) Baba simply closed our borders wit them and Benin almost went bankrupt! This prompted their president, Mr Boni Yayi to come 2 Aso rock n tender an unreserved appology. Ghana shud not provoke Nigeria, d repercussion could be ominous. Despite Nigeria's battle wit terrorists, we stil have what it takes 2 cripple little Ghana!
