No one has any clue in the house?

In my own opinion,i think first name should come first,followed by middle name if u like than surname.

In formal settings, biz world first name then surname, middle name most times is not written except if neccessary- Wole Soyinka, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton,Wayne Rooney; Lionel Messi etc- widely acceptable but in naija schools surname is preferred first for some differentation.

Thanks for the insight matthew59.in africa as well, if someone asks u of ur name,the responce is usually i am lagbaja the son of tamedu.this is the way we do it in africa.why do we need to "copy cat" everything western without valuing our own way of doing things?
the reason for this question is when my first name was mistaken for my surname in filling a form.my first name,middle name then surname.i was questioned why shoulg it be in that order & i replied "why should i write first name last?"
