bigiyaro:Try booting the tab to recovery using this method here: How to Boot Bricked MTK Android to Recovery Using MTK Droid Tools and then, you can flash your Custom ROM from there. |
Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by Nobody: 7:08am On Oct 20, 2015 |
saibinc: Maybe in MTK devices where the kernel sources are closed sourced. The recovery contains its own Linux kernel, separate from the kernel of the main Android system. If you flash a custom ROM you overwrite the kernel, unless the ROM doesn't come with a kernel in the first place. All CM and most AOSP based ROMs come with their own recovery which overwrites the existing after reboot. The few time a ROM doesn't overwrite the existing recovery is perhaps if it's stock based, and you might have to flash via Odin, or if it doesn't come with its own kernel. I'm talking about Samsung devices. |
Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by Nobody: 7:34am On Oct 20, 2015 |
saibinc:Some users reported the problem persisted after flashing. The trick is to disable the apps, not uninstall them. |

oseiwe:Ah. If you want to do that OTA then you need to have your own radio station. However there is a way to do that with a wire, if your FM radio has an AUX port then you're in luck. Connect the device to the radio via a wire (the long wires in some headphones) into the AUX port. You might need to change the mode of the radio to AUX The radio then acts as a headphone or speaker of sorts for your device. Them whatever you play in your phone plays on the radio-- even calls. If your radio doesn't have an AUX port check if it has a micro SD slot where you can insert your memory card and play your files from. |

oseiwe:That transfers music wirelessly to a radio? First I'm hearing of it. Everything is online now. People have stopped buying movies and now stream it online via Netflix and stuff. |

Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by Nobody: 7:31pm On Oct 20, 2015 |
Gyrados:Was USB debugging turned on beforehand? If so boot into factory mode, connect your device to a PC with ADB installed and push the new build.prop to your device via ADB. |
Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by Gyrados: 9:53pm On Oct 20, 2015 |
Karmanaut:Alright...but how do I go about that.... 1)where do I get the build.prop to modify 2)Windows is telling that my device is an unknown device...Although it connects to the PC and I see it as a removable drive but after some seconds....P.S..Device manager tells me I have no drivers installed...so what drivers do you recommend for my Mt6572 ubifs(not adb drivers installer)....Thanks a lot.... |
Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by Nobody: 10:20pm On Oct 20, 2015 |
Gyrados:From another phone that's the same mode as yours. 2)Windows is telling that my device is an unknown device...Although it connects to the PC and I see it as a removable drive but after some seconds....P.S..Device manager tells me I have no drivers installed...so what drivers do you recommend for my Mt6572 ubifs(not adb drivers installer)....Thanks a lot....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979 Get the ADB drivers from there. |

Karmanaut:That's a major problem....I don't know anybody who has this device.....How do I install the drivers ...I ran the setup bit still...Help me....Because it tells me that the.inf file has no info of my device.. |
Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by Nobody: 7:54am On Oct 21, 2015 |
Gyrados:Yes you can, but It'll be the modified one that's causing your device to bootloop, if you know the changes you made to the build.prop you can pull it from your device via ADB, edit it, then push it back to your device. |
Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by Baroba(m): 8:14am On Oct 21, 2015 |
Karmanaut, thanks for all your help towards this page, it hasn't gone unnoticed.. My problem, I rooted an old Samsung galaxy note 10.1 2012 WiFi edition and flashed bliss pop custom rom lolipop on it, unfortunately to charge this tablet now is an absolute pain. On stock, I will usually plug it in at midnight, and by am battery is 100%, but on this rom it can take anything up to 13hours plus. And this is just 7000mah. The main issue now is the battery indicator is stuck on 4% and it won't go any further.. I have downloaded the stock OS from sammobile but I don't have enough charge to even boot up.. My daughter wan kill me, na where she dey watch her cartoons on YouTube.. Any solutions please? |
Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by Gyrados: 8:18am On Oct 21, 2015 |
Karmanaut:Step by step guide on how to make this drivers get install...tried everything I know but still....When I try adb/fastboot,if I select N...it shows"Could not find C:\Docume~1\User\LOCALS~1\TEMP\7zipSfx.000\PATH.TMP....But if I select Y,it shows "0 file(s) copied." |

Gyrados:Did you follow the steps in the XDA thread? If it didn't recognise your device, then download the MTK drivers from here: https://m.box.com/shared_item/https%3A%2F%2Fwww.box.com%2Fs%2Fqavnkekndjy38xp0zne1 |
Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by Nobody: 9:07am On Oct 21, 2015 |
Gyrados:Dir you give it administrator permission? Right click and run as administrator. What version of Windows are you using? |
Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by Nobody: 9:19am On Oct 21, 2015 |
Baroba:Have you tried a different charger? The problem should be from the kernel of the stock ROM. You can flash a different kernel or ROM entirely. Turn off the tab, charge it and see if it comes up a little. 10% should be enough. Then boot to download mode and flash the stock ROM. |
Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by Gyrados: 9:38am On Oct 21, 2015 |
error....access denied.....Windows sP... |
Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by Nobody: 10:15am On Oct 21, 2015 |
Gyrados:XP? You need to activate the hidden administrator account. Right-click "my computer" and select "manage". Expand "local users and groups". Select "users". Now right-click on the administrator account and select properties. You can enable it in there. Or you can Upgrade to Windows 7. |

Baroba:Which custom recovery did you flash on it? |
Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by saibinc(m): 6:12pm On Oct 21, 2015 |
bigiyaro:You're welcome . |
Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by saibinc(m): 6:16pm On Oct 21, 2015 |
Karmanaut:Even Custom ROM for Samsung devices do not come with Custom Recovery. Maybe you are mistaken boot.img with the recovery.img. It is the boot.img that when flashed, overwrites the kernel. |
Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by saibinc(m): 6:21pm On Oct 21, 2015 |
Karmanaut:ONLY rare ocasions, the infected apps remain silent when disabled. It is safer to flash them than to disable them. There was case a client reported to me. He didn't want to flash the phone because of his BBM Chat history until eventually, the phone began downloading some apps, installed them itself and eventually, the phone went off and never came on until I flashed it for him. The phone in concern was Tecno H6. |
Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by Nobody: 7:09pm On Oct 21, 2015 |
saibinc:If they're disabled then they can do no harm and there's no need to flash. |
