buhari, i won't blame him in his delay, he was protecting his fellow northerners(tribalism). but in his contribution to truncating our growing democracy, he is a brut. he should respect himself before children will disgrace him. |

GEJ is not exonorated, but if the comments made by Buhari during 2011 election that caused post-election violence and the recent one he made was done by GEJ or another Southerner, I wonder what Buhari's supporters would have said. The reason Nigeria will remain the way it is or even worse is our double standards. In a sane, civilised economy, Buhari should be in jail for Treason, terrorism and more. I don't like PDP but will rather tear my voters card than vote for Buhari. For his supporters, ElRufai his right-hand man was a PDP thieving minister. Shows you Buhari's ever glaring double standards for his so called corruption fight, he did it before! The only reason I would want Buhari to become president is because it will hasten the disintegration of Nigeria. Nigeria as a nation will not last one year under him. |

Walecole74: I never liked Obasanjo as a leader but he did what Buhari could not achieve in 1999. Sacking of the generals in which Buhari was indicisive would have saved Nigeria in the hands of unknown soldiers who ruined our political system from 1984-1998 the sacking of those generals was political, it was to avoid possible rebellion against his government. Haven't you wondered how we are still leaving in this mess with an able milatary, it is because those their are loyal to the government. Just my notion. |

OmanIman: My father was one of the Hero's of the Biafra War! He told me firsthand stories about top Military officers who were obviously part of that war and the politics that characterized the Nigerian Army in the 70's and 80's. In 1984 when Gen.Buhari was advised to retire top military officers, most of who overthrew him and eventually held this Nation to Ransome till 1998, BUHARI was indecisive and lacked the boldness to act like a C-in-C. The Question is, if Buhari had acted like a leader, will Nigeria be where it is today? Buhari failed yesterday,Nigeria is past him and we can't go back to 1985 to get a leader for Nigeria in 2015. I like his passion but as he demonstrated in the past, a 'passionate man' does not necessarily make a 'good leader'!Who cares about the cocck and bull story of a biafran war hero ? Did Biafra have a war hero? Do you expect the so called hero to praise the soldiers like Buhari who gave them a bloody nose? 1 Like |

2nd March 1984 – ITN NEWS GENERAL BUHARI VISITS YOLA AFTER QUENCHING RELIGIOUS RIOTING THAT LEFT DOZENS DEAD. Nigeria's military ruler, Major-General Mohamed Buhari, visited the northeastern Nigerian city of Yola - in Gongola state - February 29 to assess the extent of damage caused by violent communal rioting two days earlier. The known death toll from the religious disturbances is nearly 140, with at least another 60 persons injured, some critically. Gongola's acting state governor, Colonel Cyril Iweze, blamed the turmoil on fanatical followers of Moslem fundamentalist Muhammadu Marwa Maitatsine's religious sect. Marwa himself was killed in vicious rioting three years ago, when an estimated 4,000 people died. In disturbances on February 27, the army was eventually called in to quell resistance from thousands of religious fanatics, at least 715 of whom were arrested by security forces. General Buhari visited the Yola Specialist Hospital during his one-day tour of the gutted city, and also met with the Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Mustapha Aliyu, to discuss the situation.

16TH APRIL 1984 - ITN NEWS BUHARI GOVERNMENT RESUMES DEPORTATION OF "ILLEGAL ALIENS" TO OPEN UP MORE JOBS FOR NIGERIANS The Government has held the influx of foreigners responsible for Moslem sectarian violence and for a rise in violent crime. Another reason for their expulsion was to open up more jobs for Nigerian citizens. Five airliners provided by Nigerian Airways ferried the deportees to their home countries in West and Central Africa. Before flying out they were taken to transit camps at the airport in Lagos.

HammedSodiqq: True talk Oman.History recounted by an eye witness is a perfect reflection of the case under review. We are all Nigerians and can attest to the purposelessness of Gen.. Buhari's administration when he was d head of state. Today we remember with bitterness his non adherence to the advise recommending the retirement of senior military officers who later rose to power, plunging the nation into its present predicament. Again, his temper, highhandedness, inconsistency, threat of bloodshed, support for violence, unquestionable fame in criticism, must-rule syndrome, and his ideological drought are enough to restrict him to his solitary confinement. Nigerians need leaders not rulers. Buhari should stick to his initial plans of staying out of politics, alliance or no alliance, he is finished politically. Majority of you people on NLand are small pikin that does not care for your future.if you want to die in penury you can vote PDP again.but if want to reclaim your destiny vote Buhari he is the only one that ve not stolen a naira from public fund. |

All Nigerias past leaders (without exception) are theives and villians. Buhari tried in his fight for corruption then bt dat doesnt make him a saint! It is even quite clear he has turned very fanatical. And i must add PDP is the only party that can keep Nigeria united (whether u lyk it or not). The rest of the parties are filled with religious bigots and tribalists (igbo, hausa and yoruba) |

^ Madam, you are very mistaken if you mean that Buhari is religious fanatic. You may not be aware that Buhari has a christian wife. Buhari's driver is a christian. His recent vP for 2011 elections is a christian pastor Bélla3: All Nigerias past leaders (without exception) are theives and villians. Were you told who those officers were? Why do we talk like this and don't try to get the facts straight.Buhari was in the war as an officer of the Federal Armed forces. Any one on the other side could say anything about him.In government , he took decisive actions. If we had continued with the policy of executing cocaine pushers would we still have a Yoruba woman carrying a kg of hard drugs in her private part? Buhari ended the Maitatsine uprising decisevely. As DOC 3rd Div, he saw to the extermination of Marwa the Maitatsine leader in Kano and the Bulunkutu group in Maiduguri. When the Chadians sacked some Nigerian villages, Buhari under Shagari almost overran the capital of that country. Many of you do not know much of the history of Nigeria and that is why celebrated leaders like him are called names. Being a northern leader appears to be a crime in Nigeria these days. |

^^ oga, having all diz christain tins doesnt make him less fanatic. As a matter of fact, most fanatics pretend to love and mingle with their opposite. I dont knw him personaly bt from the words he spoke in his campaigns... GEJ didnt put Nigeria in her present predicament neither did buhari. Evry single Nigerian has a corrupt tribalistic over religious mind! |

No political process is complete without a certified lunatic in the role of court jester. For Nigeria, that clown is Ayatollah Buhari Bin Laden of the Boko Haram suicide terror bombing fame. I for one will miss Ayatollah Buhari Bin Laden when he is finally blown to shreds by a Hellfire missile launched from a silent overhead drone, even if that necessary measure is corrective and long overdue.
