Hurray ! The pictures are coming in again! I was tired of reading many the childish but painful posts from frustrated jealous kids.
Suffice to say that I'm originally from Ekiti, and married to an Anambra man from Ichi town, Ekwusigo LGA to be precise grin grin grin.
So you can imagine my disgust at these wayward spoilt kids insulting each other over nothing.Tell me what makes Enugu and Anambra different except that Babangida decided to partition the states in 1991? Rivalry is a good thing when it is healthy, but what i saw here was misguided jealousy of kids who were really ignorant on the way things worked in Nigeria.I had commented somewhere that what happened to Ifeanyi Uba was an unfortunate misguided understanding of how Nigeria worked, so he started making noise about wealth, even though he had skeletons in his cupboard.Didn't he see Mike Adenuga, Aliko Dangote etc how they keep quiet and make massive money? By the time everything plays out, Ifeanyi uba will not only be poor, but homeless.I saw the same tactlessness in the kids arguing about Anambra and Enugu as if they were that different.Don't they know better? If an Anambra man is killed in kano, but accepted in Enugu, don't they know where "home" is located?

@ PROUD-IGBO: The pics are beautiful. I remember the Agric bank area when I used to school at FGC Enugu. The road looks nice.

With the current re-modelling and construction of an international terminal at the Akanu-Ibiam airport, and the springing up of private businesses/industries, Enugu may rival the cities of Onitsha, Nnewi and Aba in terms of commercial activities. Already, I think Enugu holds the edge when it comes to tourism/relaxation spots; Imo comes a close second.

@INNO 18: I meant no harm. I was just saying that the level of commercial activities in Enugu would be at the same level with other Naija cities, if the present infrastructural upgrades are sustained.

An international airport terminal in Enugu will definitely benefit the entire Southeast, not only Enugu. Anambra based business-persons can either choose d Enugu airport or d one in Asaba to further their businesses.

The last three pages of this thread made me sad. This is a practical demonstration of child-like behaviours which will help to divide us rather than unite the whole Igbo people. It is really unfortunate how we destroy ourselves, while others laugh at us.

I am very disappointed with all those concerned.

For those that are still posting these lovely pictures, please keep the flag flying as I fight for chance to take more pictures with my very tight schedule. Let us celebrate Enugu, and all the glory will be shared by all Igbo people.

To God be all the honour.

@Spyder....Isn't it just so embarrassing?

It makes me cringe.

Other tribes here must be shaking their heads at us or even laughing their heads off, even if they dont post on this thread.

You are right, this mentality and behavour ,will ensure that the Igbos do not progress as a people.

..........How sad!

To those posting pics, please continue.....if not for your contribution here, some of us wont know what is happening in Enugu today.

In fact others should also shed light on their states in ANOTHER thread. Not to compete or to boast, but for some of us to see what is happening in Eastern states in 2012.

Nwokem go and sit in a gutter nearby..

We Anambrans are not using your airport or any other airport elsewhere. We are not gonna be slaves to you guys...

We are already building a world class International Cargo Airport in conjunction with Orient Petroleum and Anambra state Gvt. Any state that builds airport should provide business for it to function and not hoping on Anambra to boost it as usual.

THERE'S TALK ABOUT AN AIRPORT PROJECT THERE. CAN YOU ELUCIDATE ON THAT?

"Yes, there will be an airport. I spoke about Orient Petroleum Resources PLC being a holding company. The holding company has four subsidiaries. One subsidiary is the refining of petro-chemical component which is going to operate the refinery; the second is the one that is about producing oil and gas; that is called the exploration and production subsidiary. Then we have a subsidiary which is gas and power which is supplying gas to Nkalagu cement, to breweries at 9th Mile, and possibly to this SABmiller Brewery in Onitsha. The final one is the infrastructure and services which will look after the airport and other infrastructure like housing and so on which will support the operations of the other three subsidiaries.

So the vision was that Orient will be a vertically integrated company. It derives its own raw materials, sells its products; provides its services. The airport was supposed to provide an outlet for aviation kerosene which is one of the products of the refinery. So planes will land there and load with aviation kerosene. That's the aviation fuel (ATK). So there will be a pipeline that takes aviation kero there; the aircraft will load and we can be selling aviation kero to Kano International Airport, to Lagos, even to Ghana and other places right from that point. So the airport itself is to provide an outlet for aviation kero and also it will provide a quick source of spares. Let's say you need something in the refinery, you fly it in. So we do have licence from the federal government to set up an international cargo airport to fly in materials there. This airport is located in about 1,200 hectares of land in Ifite Umuleri. It's already surveyed and work will start very soon now that we have income from the oil production."

See this "mr ibu"....cry for what ? Can we have the least of industries in Aba for a start ?
Mind you i am not from Abia state but i want to assure you that Aba is one the most industrialised cities in Nigeria, that was the reason why Barth Nnaji established Geometric in the city. Aba has so many Big, medium and small scale enterprises. They include Nigeria breweries, Unilever plc, Paterson and Zochonis(PZ), IEA, Valuembra flour mills, Guinness breweries(Dubic plant), Tonimas lubricants, Vita foam, Starline, Polema group, 7up plant, Glass industries and so many paper mills, vegetable oil mills and soap companies. NB that the aforementioned companies are among the big and medium scale industries, there are still so many others i am yet to add!
