Exactly, and this rules are meant to be broken. they just always like us bein inconvienient. My Boss once told me 'when a guy works 4 u, don't let them get too convienient. Be unpredictable and don't take their advice nd always watch their mistakes.. If you don't do this things u'll later pay for it'

If you know the amount the 'CONTRACT STAFF' racket is worth, you go park.. With exparts its even in dollars.. No blame the Oyinbos jor.. 85% of them are contract staff.

ballabriggs: Most organisations in Nigeria do not have respect for labour. Managers swear at their Juniors and nothing is done about it. Seriously it is a master slave relationship. To gain favour from management you must resort to what they call "eye service". For the ladies, there is no protection from being harassed by the randy boss. You wey come be man, wey Oga dey think say you dey pursue that babe wey in eye dey on, your own done finish for that organisation. What a shame! The unions have to wake up.

Let me give an example of something that happened in my group sometimes in 1999, guy, how dare you challenge a babe with me? It is like me being an AGN challenging a babe with the MD. Fortunately, the lady was a corper and after service, she did not wait to be retained and now, she is married to guy at last of which, the harassment gave guy the courage to date the babe as he wasn't earlier although he liked her but he couldn't because he knew my group head too liked her.

I think one of the major problem is that our lawyers do not believe they can make it big through all this nonsense going on in our private sector. I do tell my Lawyer friends that if I were one, I would specialise in Labor Law since I want to believe there must be rights for staff in our labor laws and I would use that to milk companies dry. if it happens to 3 companies, other companies would adjust quickly.

The Problem of Nigeria is NOT the so called Expatriates but rather your Bloody Labour Law and MINISTER OF LABOUR.

How where else in this world will you find a Labour Minister calling peaceful protesters JOiBLESS MiSCREANTS when the same government instead of providing jobs for the growing population is there laying off government workers, stealing pension funds and looting the budget allocated to such ministry.

There is no where in this world except Nigerian were expatriate head managerial positions up to 80% while the home citizens are left with demeaning managerial positions like Head Of Security, Head of Store / Library and the other useless names they dish out.

Someone mentioned Huawei; using that company as a case study, how else will someclueless chinese dropouts come and head departments and be paid fat salaries and allowance yet Master degree holders who are Nigerians are made to remain on one position for 5-8years with very meager salary increase and yet being treated so poorly.

Banks, Telecoms, Oil and Gas, Transport, Insurance, industry, Private and Government owned institutions lay off staff unjustly and yet there is absolutely no Labour Law to protect them.

I say it over and over again, the day Nigerians Drop religious and ethnic sentiments and fight the REAL and Common enemy of this country the better for all.

A country were billions of naira are allocated to a Labour Ministry as well as Youths and Sports and yet there are no Entrepreneur training programmes and emporwerment skills those budget are used for the citizens of this country.

Ghana has a 60-40 Labour Law in which in any given foreign company, 60% of the managerial positions are left of the Ghanian citizens and the rest for the expertriates.

Is it not this same country we hear that some certain staff can't go beyon a certain floor of their company because they are 'blacks' and termed as inferior?

Well......Not God but man (you and I) will change the situation of Nigeria if we really want a better and brighter tomorrow.

Mine is headed by a bunch of managers that stab eachother at the back, management staff are changed every now and then because someone has gone and gossipped to the chairman who will foolishly believe the stories and remove the object of gossip.

If you are not the type that lick their bootss, nothing for you, you could come to work one day and hear you have been sacked.

In addition, I would like to add that the entrepreneurial spirit is lacking in Nigeria. Is it too much for a few students with a passion for a field to set up a small company in that field and make the best of it?Nigerian students all seem to have this mentality that I should finish my education and do NYSC so that I can go and look for a job. Thats why the employment market is flooded even with first class students that should be experts in their field and NYSC is not even helping matters. People are always saying that funding is the problem but if 20 students come together, I am sure they can find a means to fund the business on a small scale and let it grow. We need to get our dignity back by not relying on a foreign company to put food on your table.

they have a five-star restaurant for the americans, britons and the filipinos and for the Nigerians which they normally refer to as the locals all they got for us is a miserable canteen where some dirty yoruba women cook amala and ewedu everyday with impunity.

Dextra: I cannot find one particular thing I dislike about my organization. All I can think of are reasons why I love it. 1. Protocol, protocol, protocol, everything must be according to protocol; this only ensures that jobs are done in a timely and organized manners. 2. Respect: They don't care whether you are young or old, everybody get the same respect. NO seniority. My superior cannot leave all the jobs to me! 3. Hourly rate: salaries are calculated based on the number of hours you work, so if need more salary, work more hours! you can't cheat anybody. 4. Thirteen month salary: AT the end of every years, you are paid 13th month salary, full one month salary as end of year bonus! There are lots more! That is why each morning when I wake up to go to work I am always so happy and eager to see my fellow workers and expatriates who come from all over the world. My organization respect skill, honesty and hard work. I wish all other companies will be like that. Did I mention that they send you out of the country for training if you meet the requirement? They respect our opinions as national staff.
