Some people will never commend anything good. Must they even post their bigoted and hate filled minds here?? Any news of progress in Nigeria especially in SE or SS they start convulsing spewing rubbish. This country has a LONG LONG way to go especially with these bigots and haters very much around. You refuse to develop your region even your elites that stole the nation dry refuse to develop it, people from other regions come to develop it for you and you hate them kill them etc. They now develop their own region and you still have to spew your hate. Sometimes i wonder if these people are humans?? 1 Like |

Onitsha is already over populated with absolutely no more rooms for industries especially one like this that would eventually increase air polition. Why was this not moved to another location? Btw, time shall tell if this is a real project or some "America wonder" . |

Please who knows exactly where this plant is located in Onitsha? This is a world class brewery plant and it will create thousands of jobs for our unemployed youth. The project should be commended and anybody who is not happy at where the plant is located should take a dive into the Atlantic ocean. |

It is located at Onitsha Harbour near the banks of River Niger. Onitsha Harbour is on the outskirt where industries are located. Its not even close to any residential neighborhood of the city. This is the biggest brewery in West Africa. http://247ureports.com/sabmiller-brewery-onitsha-highest-foreign-direct-investment-in-nigeria/ |

AWKA — THE Federal Government yesterday granted approval to Anambra State government to reconstruct the controversial Anambra end of the Onitsha-Enugu expressway. Anambra State would receive reimbursement from the Federal Government later. The approval was seen as a great relief to Governor Peter Obi, who had been pleading with the Federal Government to allow the state government reconstruct the road and get the money later in the interest of the users. Minister of Works, Mr. Mike Onolememen, who announced the approval during a visit to Governor Obi in Awka, said President Goodluck Jonathan’s approval was due to the governor’s consistent pleading and several representations to the Federal Government on the need for speedy completion of the project. According to the minister, the Bridgehead to Zik’s round about axis of the dual carriageway was awarded to the Nigercat Construction Company, while Zik’s roundabout to Amansea in Awka was awarded to the Consolidated Construction Company – CCC, and explained that the partitioning of the road to the two contractors was to ensure early completion of the project and save the people of the South-East from untold hardship. He said: “The president has approved that Anambra State government should finance the job which the new contractor -Nigercat- will do, while the federal ministry of works will reimburse the state at the end of the project. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/07/reconstruction-of-onitsha-enugu-expressway-fg-gives-approval-to-anambra/

ifyalways: Onitsha is already over populated with absolutely no more rooms for industries especially one like this that would eventually increase air polition. Why was this not moved to another location? Well Said! The only good thing that MIGHT come out of this project is employment, but we all know that a brewery is the last thing Nigeria needs at the moment. 1 Like |

Oh really? Any "Ewu" that is bothered about my location query should go kiss a wet transformer! Knowing mr Obi and his propaganda tactics, anamnbarians would only "watch and look" closely till this so called "big" project is completed. Not yet uhuru so nothing worth jubiliating, we've seen so many of such published projects and know how it all ended up. Where is onitsha harbour sef?lol Ose- water side axis?there are lots of companies there already plus the already functioning market in place too. |

@ifyalways If you are not happy with the goodnews go back to your backward state. Back to the topic: Onitsha Harbour is located off Atani Road. The entire stretch of land lying on the both sides of the Atani road and River Bank has been acquired by government for industrial purposes. |
