Please i need your opinions on a very serious issue.
I have a family friend like an aunt who works with a private firm. she helped a certain man a few years back to secure a job in her company at the head office here in Lagos while she head the abuja branch. She is the brach co-ordinator in Abuja and now the company wants to employ someone to be the branch manager in Abuja instead of just promoting her to be the manager after co-ordiating the branch for over 6years. Now, the issue is, this man she helped some years applied for the position which means he wants to go to abuja to be the manager and i think he has gotten the job.
She is more qualified because this man is only a technical person from another department. Please would you apply for this kind of position if it were you?

I personally don't think it's morally right even if the company is trying to intimidate her to resign, you shouldn't be the tool because i heard the position was thrown open for everyone to apply. you should at no point think of applying but i guess that's life.
i dont know if im adding emotions to this but i sure wouldn't do it.

please your opinions, thank you

A man your aunt helped to secure a job is now re-applying to take over the position of your Aunt or you mean she's suppose to be promoted to that position?

well some people don't see things the way some humans see things, maybe he believes your Aunt is not qualified for that position, hence the reason she was not promoted to that position, so he believes he's more qualified for it.

Maybe your aunt should talk to the management and not take it out on the man? to me o, on a moral basis, maybe the man shouldn't come and head the same person who gave her the job in the first place but on a professional level, he has not done anything wrong.

She's supposed to be promoted to this post because she has been co-ordinating this same branch for over 6 years, so its just like changing her office title you get. its same job description. this man in question i believe should not have applied for the job because she is more qualified. they both were interviwed along side other staffs but wat im trying to deduce is the fact that. even if he was going to apply for the post he should have consulted this woman that brought you into the company. they want to plit the jobs and make her sales or accounting while d new office is for a manager which to me is like demoting her. that's what i feel

Well since they didn't see (the management) your aunt as qualified enough for a promotion to that post, i don't see any fault in the man applying (professionally)

Bros, so because your aunt help him secure a job means he shouldnt step up his life. As for me, its no big deal cos the man aint the owner of the company.

@sincerelyours,
pls be sincere and honest wth ursef,if u were to be in that guy's positn u wld do same.for d managemt to hv given him d position means he is good @ wat he does(means an asset to the company)&they cant afford to forfeit dat position to someone else who is not competent....everyone wants to make in life including that guy.he is ambitious....dats al u need to make it in life.

Lol na wa! So typical θf man! So because God used you at some point to open a door for me I have to remain at your shadows abi? Pls jor there is room for overtaking!!! Besides, who determines the more qualified person for the job? You and your aunt or the MGT θf the company?

Your Aunt should take up the case with the MGT if she is not satisfied rather than blame the man for desiring and pursuing after progress! Afterall he did not manipulate his way to be promoted, he simply went through due process and was preferred!
