I personally would like to know what grounds each judge based thier scores on...
I see cheddarking has 3likes on his post, some of the other posters have only 1, yet he comes in last?

Also, chucky's scores are 6 7 6 7 7 total 33
Cheddarkings scores are 7 7 8 7.7 7 total 35.7

so how is he sixth?

I personally thought cheddarking should be 1st sha...but there you go...

The judges judged individual on the following:

Content
Delivery
Logical Argument
Factual Backup
Persuasiveness

Audience likeness does not count, we hope to have a poll for the audience to participate in the final.

You are partly right with the total's computation

the standings should be:

Debaters---------------Total

Breezy047- 7 8 6 8 7 = 36 4th
Newacca- 8 9 7 7 7 = 38 1st
Chucky234 6 7 6 7 7 = 33 6th
Coogar 8 8 5 8.6 7 = 36.6 3rd
Shymmex 8 7 7 7.8 7 = 36.8 2nd
Cheddarking 6 7 8 7.7 7 = 35.7 5th

On behalf of all the judges, debaters and the project manager, I want to apologize to the audience for any inconveniences! I believe this can be done better to yield better results that can be beneficial! As you are aware, a lot of effort was put into this but cracks have been noticed from the beginning. I promise to make it up to you with a debate("the real way I envisioned and mapped it out"wink. Your presence in this debate is appreciated!
Once again my apologies.

To all the debaters, I really appreciate your contributions and understanding. I would like to say “congratulations” for completing the debate session. You are all winners! We hope we can partner together in future for more initiatives like these. God bless you and Thank you very much!

My profound gratitude goes to the Judges

coogar: if the mods postpone this ish, then the godfatherism being discussed has spread like a virus to this forum then. postpone what? because sagamite is a mod? his opinion counts more than the other willing contestants? jaybee, I am utterly disappointed. count me out if you guys ever gather the cojones to arrange another debate!
no wonder. Godfatherism at work. Smh.

coogar:

get some perspective, hombre!
you are not looking at this from a vantage point. there's no big deal having godfathers to back any candidate to win. the support has to come from somewhere anyways - but when these godfathers resort to maiming, bribing and going to any length to put their candidate on the seat then their ideology must be questioned!

of course, there are godfathers in 1st world nations and a lot of politics tend to go behind the curtains but they don't take it to the obscene level like we do in nigeria. their battle ends in their speech, lectures and campaigns.

Thats is why we are a third world country, bribing etc. thank God you dint disagree there re godfather everywhere and atleast both in Nigeria or amelika, the person that
puts you there alwasy get favor from you. its problem contribute 0.01% inthe society if not countries like amelika would have been more corrupt than Nigeria,
russia and china put together. Infact godfatherism isnt a problem instead it can help some unknown able leaders to be known just like ngige, jonathan, obama etc

Thank God you dint insult me cos i mention jonathan ike some do here. thats why I ask for no quote.

chromoTop: this is good,i am just kinda wondering why i have to imagine myself reading aloud those arguments and guess when the voice is high, mild or low. letters dont convey much.
i think in debate, the following also helps- the aura of the speaker, his oratory skills, his ability to infuse logic with clear diction, his pauses, suspense, his stringing movement of points, watching how each word drive home his point.wish there is much more - like some voice uploads, then we can love it more.
even Mr. President can write some pretty impressive stuffs, but his voice and aura do not justice to his argument grin.
I can feel you bro, maybe you should organise a voice debate on NL that's if you have any idea how to accomplish that.
Let us know when you are ready to go so we can jump in and roll with you, for now we are chilling with our one and only Cudlemii.

My assessment below:

coogar: Good Evening, Ladies and Gents. . . . .

I have deliberately defined this collection as part of a universal set of peoples, in which I am sure we all fall into partially or wholly at various times of our life cycle. It is not to cast particular aspersion on the integrity of any person but to lay some foundation for the fluctuation of man’s sociological and behavioral patterns when disposed to matters of critical thinking. This in a sense influences our mannerisms and modus operandi to levels verging on matters of sanity, truth, action etc or lack of them as universally accepted norms. In this instance, the corruption in Nigeria driven by political Godfathers is the case study.

Good one!

It is obtuse to even think the political Godfathers in Nigeria are not responsible for the sheer penury we find ourselves today.

Agreed. But you opposed it with the quote below.

It baffles me to hear that we still ask ourselves how to change such cancer that pervades all levels of the socio-political fabric as if we do not know the causes are self-orchestrated.

^ A point for those who are against. God-fatherism should replace self orchestrated there.

I tell a lie if I say I am not affected by the abuse, degeneration, despair, debasement, and dehumanizing conditions Nigeria has put us all. If we do not recognize this, I’m afraid we cannot appreciate our position of retrogression. And if we do not appreciate our present state, we cannot define a path to a glorious future. Introspection is preemption to hindsight. For those in the other divide that feel differently to this notion, I salute their sagacity. As a honourable member of Nigeria’s intelligentsia, I assume these strategies are already in place. But what can be the efficacy of prayers when it is done in deceit? What tickles my anger though is the hint of hypocritical euphemism that underscores such rhetoric.

Good quote. Infact I'mma add it to my archive. Sorry to say, but thats the only point in this paragraph.

Hence, the Judge gave you 5. You did little in proving your point, honestly.

Agreed. But you opposed it with the quote below.

it's not contradictory for goodness sake. the godfathers are doing all what is possible to keep the rest of the populace in poverty. this is because poverty itself is a weapon that can be used in permanently subjugating the people.

the problem of ethnicity and religion in my view are artificial constructs used by the ruling bourgeois to divide the people so that their personal agenda can be realised!

^ A point for those who are against. God-fatherism should replace self orchestrated there.

you completely miss the point! that people are even willing to serve these godfathers is because they are poverty-stricken so they trade their ethics and moral values for swollen tummies! it's all designed by the godfathers!

Hence, the Judge gave you 5. You did little in proving your point, honestly.

judge gave 5 cos he/she lacks the cognitive reasoning to cope with a long missive as such as that. he/she probably got bored along the way and just awarded what he deemed fit!

Breezy047 - You had a good debate, though i couldn't seperate your points from your case study. You cited some personalities in your case study and am sure that was to give it a voice. For me, you went more into the event more than the subject and that could be a minus. You did really great all together. Bravo!

Newacca - The body of your debate got me rooting. You broke the defination of the subject into the content. Your points were beautifully highlighted, the case study was simple and incisive. I enjoyed reading! Welldone.

Chucky234 - Your points was intertwined with the content. I couldn't identify it. The body of your debate was on a good lane but it was moving really fast; you ran it down. I indeed enjoyed reading!

Coogar - Your intro was superb! If only on that, you just won. I think your content was more of an article than a debate. I like the penetration of the your vocabs. Kudos!

Shymmex - 3 things won me over. 1) Your reference 2) Your depth of research and 3) Your style of writting. I wasn't ok with the end of the body of your debate, it was like you dropped us in the middle of no-where but in all thumbs up!

Cheddarking - Towards the beginning of your debate, you brought your point home to what we all can understand, i so like that. The points was there but wasn't seperated. At a point i though you were following a story line but when i saw your reference, it balanced the body and with your picture, you killed it! I call that swag. Good job!

Please note that this' NOT the judges' score-card. It's my PERSONAL view and it's refined from sentiment or bias. It's just my way of adding the fun and if you think am wrong, my sincere apologies!
