Good morning Chief.

Good news and bad news.

The good news is I got a rewire to check out the gear and found out that the 3rd clutch transmission fluid pressure switch was bad. So the car drives fine now.

The bad news is that push when I'm slowing down and the gear is changing from 2 to 1 is still there cry
No blinking D lights, just that.

Any advice will do

Thanks

add more details.

This is query is very vague.
anytime I turn the steering to either end I.e from left to right and back I hear this Sharp knock noise.i have changed the shaft recently, and this sound comes from the engine area. my mech suggest either the steering box or the right suspension. Don't really know what to believe that why I'm asking for advise from experts here.

We can only guess, no one can accurately advice you on what to do. Proper suspension diagnosis required so you do not throw parts at the problem.

If I was to guess I would say your upper strut mounts might be failing or not installed properly.

Think of worn out ball joints too.

Like Gazzuzz said, a proper evaluation of your suspension system will help to narrow down on the culprit.

Cheers!

there lies the problem. Check that the harness is connected.

If connected replace pressure switch
harness is connected. Does this 3rd gear pressure switch affect all the gears?

It affects the functionality of the transmission adversely.

Fix that code and a lot of problems will be solved.

Luvinghubby et Gazzuz:

Greetings Sirs.

I am in a bit of dilemma concerning the engine mounts on my '03 Accord LX.

I noticed some chassis vibration, which I diagnosed as torn engine mounts.

On removal and visual inspection, the rear engine mount, right and upper transmission mounts were torn.

I replaced all with new mounts, including the lower transmission mounts.

However, I noticed that the new REAR mount was not an exact fit. Only 3 of the 4 foot bolt holes aligned. So, I had to use only those 3.
(PS: The rear mount I bought was precisely meant for i4, not V6).

The vibration reduced but never went away completely, especially when using a/c and at a stop with gear in 'D'. Vibration disappears under same condition if I shift to 'N'.

I have a feeling I didn't buy good engine mounts ab-initio, even though they were 'new'.

Vibration seems to be worsening now.

Do I source for Toks engine mounts OR order OEM mounts (last resort)

What would you advise I do, if I must eliminate this vibration completely?

Thanks!

chief! Greetings.

Large Front and rear mounts are usually the vibration culprits, the do not necessarily have to be torn to be bad, most times the vibration is caused when the rubber part has compressed beyond its normal height and now the metal part is resting on the hard side of the mount, (more like metal resting on metal) In cases like this, when you detach front and rear mounts, you will see markings of the top of the mount from the aluminum brackets from the engine.

Hello house,

I just bought a HONDA EOD 2003 and the previous owner has been using SAE 40 oil for the engine and any kind of ATF for the transmission. I was advised by my mechanic not to use the recommended 5W 20 oil for the engine because of the mileage and it would be too much for the engine to handle at this point. He suggested Castrol GTX 20W/50. I also need advise as to ATF for the transmission. Can I use Oando's Dexron II? Or Honda DW 1 ATF? Please advice me.

The Honda ATF-DW1 is best advised for you transmission oil change, but if you are not sure of getting the original DW1, which has been massively cloned and faked from China by our people, then use the Oando dextronIII for the time being.

As for engine, better stay with what the previous owner had been using.

Looking for this sensor. I suspect that it might be the cause of my 1 to 2 harsh shift. Car runs extremely smooth after the harsh change and is not throwing any codes, D light not flashing and I have changed honda atf twice yet no improvement. Further investigation points to this. Even if this is not the problem, some recommend changing it as it suffers wear and tear especially in city driving. Option B is to buy from AliExpress but want to check of its readily available. Cc GAZZUZZ et al
PS same sensor is for 3 to 4 shifts too so will need two

Option A - $15 X 380 = N5,700(minus shipping cost)

Option B - A decent fairly used in Nigeria is N2,000

Option B is my advice

I drive a 2003 Acura TL Type S. The temperature needle rises anytime I'm stuck in traffic with AC on most especially during hot afternoons. The needle returns to its normal position when I turn off air con. Mechanic said my thermostat is bad which I replaced but the problem is still there. My fans are working perfectly and the radiator is clean. He adviced I change the car radiator to a double cell and everything would return to normal. Please advice.
