Hello Gazzuzz, Livinhubby

I really need your expertise on this matter. The issue I'm batteling is one that reocurred. My mechanic replaced the Dual Linear Solenoid (Flat Switch) of my transmission about 2 weeks ago. Prior to this, my gear wasn't changing appropriately. 2 days ago, I noticed leaks coming out of the
transmission and took the car back to the Mechanic to get it checked out. He noticed that the leaks were coming from the flat switch whgich was replaced.

Upon, sealing the leak, I left the workshop and barely 5 minutes later, my car refused to engage the second gear. Right now my mechanic is telling me that the switch hardly goes bad and he is very sure of the quality of the switch (Solenoid) that he purchased and my best bid right now will be to replace the transmission.

Attached is a picture of the solenoid which I think is responsible for this issue.

Thank you for your anticipated response.
There is a gasket that is supposed to come with that switch that when not properly aligned causes leakage & poor gear selection.
And it will not cause much to manually check if the flat switch changed for you is stuck.

Hello, Gazzuzz. Want to know if "drive shaft" means same thing as "ball joint". Are both the same as "front arm"?
I should shoot the inventors of all these names...

The IAT sensor is on your air cleaner hose, may have to change that with the hose.

The EVAP sensor is underneath, close to the fuel tank

The air/fuel ratio sensor is the oxygen sensor & is most likely the reason the check engine was triggered on, so change that & observe.

The vtech solenoid if bad can lead to slight jerks on acceleration & is less than 2k to replace, just the valve, do not let anyone collect money for the whole solenoid from you. Located at the back of your engine close to rear engine mount.

A happy easter to everyone.

Please, what is the permanent solution to securely sticking back my rear view mirror?

After a windscreen change years ago, it's been falling off every now and then. I've used blue gum, 4-minute set, super glue, all with no permanent effect.

Any evidence-based advice on way to go, pls?

lubricate the ball bearing first, then try OGBUTA or oguawa. Works 10/10 times for me

Thanks Gazzuzz

I have no issues with the ball bearing, although i'll lubricate it as advised.

My problem is the flat metallic brace that is glued directly to the windscreen. It falls off mostly when I park the car in the sun. A few times at night though (esp with super glue).

The bulk of the mirror is usually mounted on that brace (Honda Accord 2003)

some problems cannot get a direct solution, especially with explanations as vague as this. If you want a more detailed solution, we would need a more detailed diagnosis of the problem, E.g scan result and fuel pressure readings.

@ Gazzuzz @luvinghubby

Concerning my rear view mirror issue, I haven't been able to find OGBUTA. I was told it's no longer being produced.

The other alternative Gazzuzz mentioned, OGUAWA, seems absolutely unheard of here in Ib.

Any further ideas Sirs?

Thanks!

Hello guys, I have issues with a 2008 Honda Accord vtec 2.4 cyl.

1.When car starts and you try to move. It doesn't respond slowly immediately. It picks up quickly after putting pressure on the throttle. Same as when in motion, with low pressure on the acceleration. It's moves to about 4000rpm with reving noise. Before now, the 'D' blinks when it revs to 4000rpm. I changed the flat switch sensor and the smaller single one and the blinking stopped but the rev still persist with low acceleration.

2. Radio goes off and comes on anytime it likes. I checked the fuse which is okay. But noticed applying pressure to the fuse seems to bring the radio to stable condition but once you take your hands off, it goes off. Kindly assist with your advice

Hello Pals,I use the 2005 Honda Accord. My mechanic has advised that I change my transmission oil.I have tried to read about the best for Honda and found out that it is Honda ATF DW1 or something like that..... The dealer I spoke with told me that it goes for 3000 naira per liter and that I will need up to 6 litres. This is quite expensive for me at this time. Can users please confirm to me if I should go for another alternative or must it be the Honda ATF?If so,do I really need 6 liters costing 18,000.What are the solutions for this? Please share your experiences and response.Thanks.

Check your power steering oil containers, it's often neglected by car owners & technicians. When dirty, it pushes dirt into the pump causing damage and failure.
More tips coming.
