For me o, weavon or no weavon, i just like women with good hearts. Come to think of it is there any woman that does not or have not fixed weavon? I love a particular weavon on style on my wife. I can do anything for her anytime she wears that style. But I love braids the most.

In the last year or so, I've really started to hate weaves. I don't think having a weave as an alternative hairstlye is bad in itself (my wife mainly wears hers natural or in braids, but does go for the occassional weave).

Although many races wear weaves, my personal opinion is that one particular race now has an unhealthy obsession with weaves. One incident really brought it home for me. There was a U.K. newspaper article about a single mother with 2 kids who was having her benefits reduced, had trouble finding a reasonable job, and couldn't even afford proper school shoes for those kids.

There was a picture of her with her kids and their school shoes did indeed look tattered. However, the main thing I noticed was that her weave was on point. Thinking about how much that hair, including the fixing, must have cost, I lost all sympathy for her situation.

Apart from her, now when I look at pictures of social events, practically all the girls are sporting a weave, with a majority of the weaves looking similar. Someone talked about variety, I don't see too much variety in the way the weaves are worn by our dear sisters.

I think it's ironic that in the race with the most potential for hairstyle variety, many girls have just turned into clones of one another.

Last but not least, SOME WEAVES JUST LOOK NASTY!!!

I never said my oppinion on this.

Personally i don't really like weaves, i cant stand the colored ones like blond or red and the Indian hair looks so unnatural. undecided
But it can look quite nice if the girl gets it really curly, like the girl in the last photo, it looks more realistic.

But honestly, i think most dudes are lying when they say they don't like weaves, chicks who wear them seen to have alot more success than those who don't.

Another question: Do women where weaves for themselves or for men?
Re: Men What Do You Think Of Weaves? by Nobody: 6:20am On Jul 24, 2012
No women wear weaves to impress their female friends ...clearly

I have never heard a man say...

"yo i was about to fhhuck that chick untill i got to her house and her weave was all messed up"

..Straight Men don't give a damn about a woman's hair....

pleep: Another question: Do women where weaves for themselves or for men?

Themselves. Something about it being "easier to manage" (that's the usual phrase).

I think black women should go back to wearing their hair naturally, personally. But you can't take away a whole area of fashion (straight hairstyles) from women in an age where fashion is such a big deal. If somehow weaves were banned from majority black countries, it would be equivalent to limiting people's choices and freedom.

And almost every single black woman wears a weave.

If you know of a a way to tell a woman to skip "da weave" without getting some heat, please share cheesy. I detest those things - I cant see how any conscious african woman would wear one.

Can't understand why the Black woman can't see the beauty in her own nature.
It all started when our ladies only saw beauty in the looks of a White lady and has since been brainwashed never to see herself as beautiful.
How come there is no White woman who wants to look black and wear Afro? because they are ok with their looks and have good self esteem.
It's high time our Black ladies began creating bold statements with their African Weaves, Dreads, etc and try exporting those.

True talk, there is no way to convince them if they already have it.

But i managed to convince my sister not get get one, i really do not think weave is more manageable than real hair. They cant even excercize with weave.

And I dont think anyone would respect Michelle Obama if she wore one.
Re: Men What Do You Think Of Weaves? by Nuzo1(m): 6:06pm On Jul 24, 2012
As much as I respect the choice of wearing wigs or weaves by some women, it actually irritates me. Sadly.
Re: Men What Do You Think Of Weaves? by kandiikane(m): 7:09pm On Jul 24, 2012
All these men here complaining because the weave is chopping their money.

Ha! tongue

Anyway, women don't weave for men. They do it for themselves. You have to understand black hair is not something you can just leave like that as a woman. Women always want to look good for as the bible even said that the hair is where the beauty lies. Even if the face is a mess as long as the hair is done, attention can be drawn from the face to the hair.

Wearing weave doesn't mean she wants to be white or asian, we are lucky as black people we can wear any hairstyle and it will make no difference to us as blacks. When white people do single plaits or dread, it looks odd on them.

I personally wear weaves and wigs to change hairstyles from time to time, look different. I had my hair cut and I still go out with it.
I don't wear my wigs at my partner's house. I don't see the point of it.

I don't do things to impress a guy.

@pleep but she still has her hair permed so she ain't no different.

ridiculous

I personally wish women would spend as much time and money on their natural hairs than they do on weaves.
Weaves gradually ruin natural hair and then women have to continue with weaves to cover the damage caused by it.
It's a vicious circle.

I recall when mothers and even little girls had healthy long hairs maintained by trained hair stylists not the "salon girls" we find these days.
When weaves became popular, good hair care was ditched. Anyone with a set of combs, needle and thread can now claim to be a hair stylist

I detest those expensive and smelly weaves women wear these days.Don't get me wrong ,I can live with them once in a while. But when the women that matter to me have to wear them 365 days in a year,I get seriously irritated.Well kept natural hair does it for me any day.

lol, it would be to much to ask for women to stop perming their hair. haha that will never happen. But, correct me if i'm wrong perm is much more manageable than weave. With perm you can still sweat and exercise without ruining it.
as the bible even said that the hair is where the beauty lies. Even if the face is a mess as long as the hair is done, attention can be drawn from the face to the hair.
This was written about white people... have you ever seen how a white woman looks without hair? undecided
Re: Men What Do You Think Of Weaves? by kandiikane(m): 8:55pm On Jul 24, 2012
Whatever it maybe, whether the bible was written for white people or not, that is not the case. A woman's hair must be on point. There is no point making up your face when your hair looks like you shyt.

I don't know which girls you hang around with but if you have good weave you can still sweat and exercise without ruining it.
