This day, some years ago, the woman I fondly call by the moniker, "Sholly" gave birth to me in their small, bourgeoisie Ibadan home. I thank God for His mercies and truly as my beautiful sister has said, "Àgbà ti n dé" (you've now come of age). I thank God for His mercies, apart from being alive, He's really blessed me beyond the numerical worth of my age. I'm happy. Happy birthday, Olaniran!!! Nairalanders, celebrate with me! |

Thanks so much! Olaniran is a Yoruba name and let me break it down here. "Ola" means wealth. "ni" means "has" and "iran" means generation or family. Therefore, the contraction means "wealth has generations" or "a continuous generation of wealth". Thanks for the honour of wanting to know the meaning of my name. God bless you! |
