Sagamite:

ROFLMAO! grin

Typical Nigerian standard implementation.

In a Sagamite world, someone (or even some people) would be sacked. But this is a world of Nigerian foools, "Oga, sorry now" "Na mistake, we don try na" and that is the end of the matter.

Culture of failure and sub-standardness. The Nigerian culture!

Bros your own don too much, haba. Cut us a slack abeg, we are turning everything to e-channels now. do u guys have e-arrests and e-detentions in your part of the world

Una don loss for Obodo Oyibo, that you believe nothing good can come out of Nigeria. This is obviously just one of the ways one can contact the the police. Nigerian Police like the Nigerian society has a lot of improvement, but that improvement must start somewhere. When last did you encourage any of your relatives to join the Nigerian Police?

http://naijamayor.com/meet-lagos-state-first-female-police-pro-ngozi-conchita-braide/

Apparently according you this woman cannot use the internet

henrychubayo:
You don't need to criticize everything good. You should have welcome the development. Security is a very serious issue now and your report could make a difference and save life or help the correcttion or sack of a police officer who misbehaves. We need to improve and we are improving but don't discourage this improvement plz my bro

Both of you put your thinking caps on:

If peradventure you are attacked or witnessing an attack by armed robbers, will you be thinking about how to compose and send an email?

Even if you send your email, who is going to read it? Is the reader in a central location? How then does he propagate your information to the right quarters?

How many people in Nigeria can actually write in English? Nairaland alone is witness to the horrible constructions that some people put together as 'English sentences'

From the recieved emails, how can the police immediately ascertain if the writer is telling the truth?

I only have one brain, if God wanted me to think for both of you, he would have given me two extra brains....Wise UP!

Pakavy: yeah, besides hw many pple know hw 2 use d internet dat is if they have access 2 it
The few that know how to use d Internet would use the option, while those that don't know how to use it would use d phone number option (someone just said d phone numbers have earlier been released). My dea, the fact that some people don't know how to usebd e-mail is not enough reason for this development to be criticized. Moreso, pictures of crime scenes and photographs of suspects can be forwarded to d police via this e-mail address. Let us see d positive side of things for once plzzzzzz

What a classic person move.... angry

Do these people seek to insult our intelligence or what?!!

So If I am being chased on the express road by armed robbers with AK-47, they expect me to be typing an e-mail to request for help?!

Abi if I am witnessing a crime, I should send them an Email....

Is this the 24hrs toll free 911 alternative?! angry

Okay... Let them also give us the Police Blackberry Pin and Tweeter handle as well...

What a useless country.. Its times like this that I remember why we are yet to progress...

The truth is that our leaders are so old, product of a failed society and educational system and are very very Y2K uncompliant...

I would be expecting to hear that the Nigerian Police has signed an agreement with all the Telecoms companies to set up a shortcode 24hr (police, ambulance and fire service)emergency service line, that they have also fitted all the police patrol cars with radios (that work) and that every police man is now issued a patrol radio thats hooked to a dedicated frequency where they can hear the chit chats and get called instantly...

Like I am so fhucking pissed I just slapped my secretary for the hell of it...

If there's an active phone no's, even the police would knw they are workin', i saw a woman that chased her house boy of arnd 10-11yrs old out of the house, telling him to go away, for stealing after serious beating, the neighbors were pleading, bt d woman was adamant... I was rushing offf to somewhere, besides if i should go to the police station, i would have to pay a fee, before they follow me, i should be able to kal the police frm the comfort of my room to pick that woman up, for child trafficking/labour....

EVEN IF YOU HAVE THEIR PHONE NSO WHATS THE GUARANTEE THAT THEY WILL HONOUR UR CALL, WHEN THEY DONT ALWAYS HAVE FUEL IN THEIR VEHICLES OR THEY ARE ALWAYS NOT TO HAVE EATEN FOR 3 DAYS.

which crime and which police?
nigerian crimes and criminals are too open for anyone to ask us to send emails.
from aso rock to the last politician in nigeria are crimes and criminals so why are u asking us to send u emails. ok, i will send u email that wife did not put meat in the soup she gave me?
the last time i checked, blind men were not allowed to lead blind men. inside our police stations, crimes are sleeping with crimes. is it not important that police clean itself of crimes before looking elsewhere. a police prosecutor takes money from u to appear in court on a case day. they make justice too expensive for the poor and u want us to send u email to fight u. police's second name is crime.

May be you think you are wise but i can't see it. Are you such a little brain that you forgot to know that the police have phone numbers for contacts. Is your brain so weak to know that some report can not be send on the phone. Before now, have there been any way to send a large report other than to buy a plain sheet of paper and write it down manually? Do you have a weak brain that you fall to know that locally, the police have contacts nos in case of emergency but your foolish brain could write the number or take it off head. I still hold the number of general PPRO of the police and the PPRO in my state who respond immediatly when contacted which is always call for the general public on every tuesday radio nigeria but you brain is slow to capture it. I don't like talking to foolish, unreasonable humans who fall to understand things the right way. You don't know anything about progress and development and you need to learn it. If you can't understand the reason why this email was given, then you must review your primary school studies cause that is the origin of the problem. Learn how to think, learn, understand and analyze so that you could be more productive to nigeria. So technically, your brain need to be fixed

with networks like MTN ... "Email sending failed"

ARMED ROBBERS: "we know you are trying to send an email, mumu Phcn just took the light at the police station plus mtn is on strike.. u better open this door"

Do you know the meaning of email? Electronic mail. Have you used a post office to post an emergency mail to police? No. You use mail to report cases of gross misconduct by police or report areas or needed attention. The same is applicable here as This can only be used for large reports and not emergency. Have you forgotten that police have contact phone numbers even visibly writing on the vehicles according to the locality the patrol? In every country, the police have emails to report cases and issues of concerns and why would nigeria police own be a strange one. Guys plz do understand

Attending to the bolded first .. NO i dont , though i write software
To the rest of your stated claims, i guess you belong to the class of Nigerians that still believe this country is one, oh well.. Talking about emergency numbers, u better get on your knees and pray you never need to call it.. if fuel is not available its no driver..

The scam in this country is beyond obvious and if you cant see it then you are obviously blind .

Addressing the second bolded ... because we have more important issues to tackle, LIKE CORRUPTION WITHIN THE POLICE FORCE.

Come to think of it who are we going to send the report to, the same corrupt police officers that extort innocent Nigerians far away from the police station they are assigned to so you cant trace them, or Armed robbers that dont hide their faces due to confidence and believe that the Nigeria Police cant and wont come around till the whole robbery is over.

Telling me the Nigeria police now have an email for reporting crimes is a bigger joke than the Night of a thousand laughs
