Hello house,

Is there a way, or is it advisable, to ask for the status of application? I applied the first week of November and have had no response till now.

That's good. Funding is always competitive. Also, continue publication in highly recognisable journals. You can still apply for funding in your second year. All the best.
Wellcome to New Zealand in advance; its a nice place to leave in, friedly people, never experienced racism so far, unlike other countries I have visited.

I had publication, distinction in masters and a 4.3 in first degree..... yet I no get am..... anyways I thank the lord..... going in march as I just got my AIP

Most schools does not require IELTS for admission especially PhD.

No tuition deposit in NZ, and school fees are paid in full before the visa.

Pathway to PR is point-based. BSc is 4, Masters 5 and PhD graduate is 6 points. You can have working experience to add more point. If you have some occupation, you can apply for skill to resident, direct PR.

Family is allowed for Masters and PhD.

going through the thread, it seems quite number received admission but not yet seen any one with funding....... it seems that they do not give funding to nigerian students but rather to indians and kiwis.......
They do give funding to anyone irrespective of your Nationality once you meet the criteria, many have a published paper in a reputable journal.

I have a Nigerian in my school who is on Scholarship. When I applied for mine, it was not successful, the main reason was no publications.

So work towards paper publication and have a good grade in your Masters, you will get it.

Lastly, subsidising PhD fee to around NZ$7k is a scholarship on its own.

Good day, all, please help me access my profile.

I want to access for Accountant or Auditor.

Visa class 491 - 15 points.

IELTS - I got at least 6 in each component 0 points.

Age - 33 - 39 - 25 points.

Education - though I have a masters in 2022, and I am thinking of using my bachelor's 15 points.

Work experience - this is where I have an issue, though I can claim 8 years to give me 15 points, the issue is getting the documents to submit as most of my work is with a private small company and my salary is not going to my bank account from a company account.

I also have a business I can use. My question goes thus:
1. Please which document do I need to claim work experience if am using my business?
2. If I am using the private company as stated above, which documents will I need?

Hello guys, I am yet to get a decision on my application and my resumption is in January.

I defer my admission to Fall, do I need to update IRCC on this new development, if yes, how, please?

Good day Guys,

WHAT DOES IT MEAN IF YOU ARE REQUESTED AND YOU ARE GIVEN A DATE TO SUBMIT YOUR MEDICALS

It means medical is missing from your required document, not a guaranteed visa is about to be issued as done in Canada. Just submit by the requested date, if you can't meet up, write a cover letter to request for time extension

Hello good pple, how long does it take to receive an interview mail after sending ur application, plus likelihood questions pls.

Interview mail for which type of application, visa, student (PhD, master)?
If it's PhD it depends on the school and supervisors, my supervisor arranges mine after passing the admission criteria at the departmental level, everything comes fast within a week.

No interview for visa application, if that's what you mean.

VISA APPROVED
Appreciation to everyone who has provided information previously that guided me on this path.

Got my offer of place in June 26th precisely. The dollar rate actually affected my already saved funds, so it delayed my process.

I applied for my visa September 14th it was a group application, my wife and two kids.
A week after application I got an email requesting I submit my research abstract and filled the form 1200.

October 12th my wife got an email requesting she proved we've been living together that they are already satisfied that we have a genuine relationship. They gave a 26th October as the deadline to provide this.
I went to the local government where we live and got a Domicile letter and we also added some documents like invoices carrying our address from the company she usually get her toiletries, pictures of our first and second daughter naming ceremony in our residents with family and friends, although we've provided similar pictures during the application.

She responded to the email same day which was 13th October on a Friday and on Tuesday 17th our visa landed grin.

Documents submitted
Proof of fund: I used a fixed deposit certificate
Proof of employment: I'm an entrepreneur, I submitted my CAC documents, 5 years Annual returns receipt from CAC, recommendation letter from a federal university I've worked for commending my company (I run a solar company), clients reviews, memorandum of understanding I entered with top leading microfinance bank with sole aim to sponsor anyone interested in acquiring solar in their homes, 6 months bank statement of my company showing transactions (I banked with a microfinance bank), my NYSC certificate, and CV.

Education: I submitted my bachelor's and master's degree certificate and transcripts.

For my wife: She's a professional banker, I submitted all her employment letters (3), nysc certificate, and CV.

Other documents: marriage certificate, wedding pictures, numerous WhatsApp chat conversation I had with my wife relating to our family, pictures when we had our first baby, Xmas pictures when we went out to with our kids, birthday picture of our first daughter with both of us, chat conversation when my wife was asking me to get baby food for my little daughter with date.

Family ties: nothing much here, I don't have any landed property. I only presented a picture I took with my mum and dad, and I already stated I'm the only son of my parents.

Reason to return back to Nigeria: I presented My company as my treasure, with my bank statement already shown and the partnership my company entered with a microfinance bank, I will definitely come back. I stated I have few staff with their names and information in my cover letter, they will be the one running the company in my absence. Although, they are great guys and I trust them (just two of them).

My cover letter: this was a long one, since I won't be there when my application is been reviewed, I made sure I explained in details and be convinced that there won't be any question regarding my genuine intention to study and gave a good reason why I'm coming with my wife and 2 kids. It was a long letter (9 pages grin)

Men and brethren, I was in doubt if my application would be approved, but I and my wife prayed endlessly, especially using a fixed deposit from a microfinance bank, No landed property and many more. God came through and helped me.

Application duration was exactly 33 days.

My program: PhD in mechanical engineering, Auckland university of Technology.

Thank you all and God bless you.

If you're in this process or planning to apply, make sure all your documents are GENUINE and PRAY.

CONGRATULATION
Do you pay school fees before submitting or you are on scholarship? Mine was approved in principle; I was told to pay my fees and show a receipt from the school. International money transfer has been delaying me.

Thank you.

Hello,

Please does anyone know if there is Naija community in Otago?

For those already in NZ studying PhD, how will you rate employment there generally and possibility of combining PhD with fulltime or part-time employment?

I am starting my PhD Finance 1 November self funded, hence the need for this information before departing Naija to enable me plan well.

Thank you.

Hello room,

I am submitting application for student visa for my wife. As a dependant, I choose to apply for an open work permit.

From the document required, I was told to provide purpose of travel which includes a scanned copy of the flight ticket departing the can't travel itinerary and proof of medical. (See attached). Who has experience with what to provide here, please?

Secondly, on my imm1295e form, under detailed of intended work in Canada, I chose open work permit and I was asked for details of employer, address, date and title of employment.

What should I put here as no employment yet, just an open work permit?

Thanks for your time.

Now I understand why you criticize people unnecessarily. If you are in position of that person, I mean not privilege through student visa, am sure you will do the same. We found ourselves in this country not by our power but God wishes.

Am not in support of lies neither do I say she's leing, all am saying is stop critics and advise someone wisely. You quickly jump into conclusion on people when it comes to visa, I read most of your post in the Visa section.

One way or the other, everyone have ever lied in their life time, even our president lied to Nigerians to win election.

May God forgive us all.

justwise:

Just call my ID and repeat that false line like many have done before

grin grin there is nothing like that in student visa application and many of you ignorantly keep repeating that each time somebody speaks against lies and our not-so-good reputation.

Do you actually know that foreign students can legitimately change visa and stay back in the UK after studies?

You need to spend time researching on facts rather than repeating some poor lines from people who has strange relationship with the truth.

Call me a saint i take it any day.

Below is my observation, though guru in the house will contribute.

The main issue I can read from the refusal letter is about your bank statement. You are also trying to do same mistake in the new application i.e. 2m balance.

Your account statement should convince the ECO that the turnover is reasonable, for example, the ECO check your balance as at July which does not align with August ending balance.

Let there be correct flow in your account before reapplying.
My suggestion.

heiphe:
Good morning gurus in the house. URGENT PLS, DONT PASS ME BY

Please I need corrections and suggestion on my application.
I I submitted an application Sept 2018 with my spouse, saying I won all expenses paid trip in my company at the 2017 end of the year party and it's worth 5m, and company will deposit the money 2 weeks to d trip.
Documents submitted was
Employment contract (mine n hubby)
Congratulatory letter from my company
Sponsorship letter
Introduction letter from both company
Leave approvals
Land documents
Sponsors 6month statement with 123m
My 6month salary acct statement (gtb)
DH 6month salary acct (earns 250k)
6 month payslip for DH and I
Both id cards
Personal company regs document and statement (Diamond) as at then I was using my personal acct for d business
Police certs
Marriage cert
Please see attached refusal letter.
My questions are:
1.What av I done wrong in the previous application?
2. Point 2 raised isn't clear enough, it's seems there's some thing I should av done I didn't do.
3. Planning to resubmit d application, what has changed is that d company deposited 2m into My acct last week to ease processing, and balance will be paid wen we have d visa.
4. Did I submit too many irrelevant supporting docs?
5. Should I include my business acct (zenith of abt 2m balance) of which my employer is the major client with fluent transactions.
6. We plan to stay in a hotel but we'll be visiting my sister in law and family. We stated that in the last visit too.
7. Meanwhile, hubby has been rejected twice b4 this 1. Saying they're not satisfied the funds avail in d acct are available for the trip.
8. We plan to submit this February as we are looking at travelling for Easter.

If you have genuine intention, there is no way you won't receive your pin in Nigeria. I receive pin from Google using my address in Nigeria except you are part of those people that use 234 as their postal code. Google your area for correct postal code, if you leave in remote area, it will be delivered to your nearest post office.

Meanwhile, if you insist on UK address, do your research there are companies that give you a virtual address and will send you your pin, simple.

Daminovic:

Okay. Am into admob ads but my progress has been stalled by lack of efficiency of Nigeria postal code which made it very difficult to receive my pin verification so i don't have any other opportunity than to create another account this time Uk account to fasten my pin verification. So am looking for anybody who's willing to help me with correct uk address and that person will also help me receive and send my pin to me. Thanks
