That changes the dynamics of things. Your sisters, are they not living human beings like you or they are not to be mentioned as siblings or offspring because they're not male? he wanted to know if you were the only offspring but you kept saying 'only son' as if you don't have siblings. May God keep you and other SS sufferers healthy, don't mind people who think otherwise
The guy in this thread has siblings and an only son just like me....or am I missing something? Of course my sisters are my siblings.
Cheers.

Brother, Proper and Early Orientation and Counseling prepares one for Greatness in Life. Should the above be done adequately, the sky becomes the beginning of his limits on any endeavors.

Managing SS Children is Pretty Simple if not for Funds and the Right Information and Naturals.
How have you been handling your health?
Let's talk on Whatsapp 09053460598
The family we are talking about in this thread, I doubt they will give the guy proper orientation. They sound selfish and manipulative. I am sorry to say that, but that is how I feel reading the story.

So, if she hasn’t submitted any letter to the right office that should deal with issues of resignation, how then can she be asked to remain in office pending investigation?

Dailytrust is just being sensational here. The president cannot reject a resignation that he’s not aware of. When Oyo-Ita is ready to resign, she will send her resignation letter to the appropriate authority.
Nice spin

You will support the parent until the wife-to-be happens to be your sister or daughter. Whatever happens to surrogacy! They can find a surrogate mother to carry the pregnancy for him. After all, replacement is all they need.
They don't care about the life of the so-called wife, who will be very young too. That's selfishness!
I remember when I was being pressured to marry, immediately after my First degree. No job. Living in the family house. No money of my own.
I asked my mum then, if the intended lady were to be your daughter will you advice her to go into marriage with me? That kind of lessened the pressure.
Maybe I am lucky to have been able to stay alive and make my own choices. I am also grateful that I resisted their pressure then.

I am an only son and never let that stupid pressure get to me. I made sure I finished my education up to masters level and was comfortable enough before I got married. I have 3 kids now and though mum is late now, she met two of those kids and she was proud of me.

And his parents are God that manufactures babies? What if he marries today and die tomorrow won't that be in vain? What if he can't impregnate a lady?
Have you thought about the happiness of the lady involved?

Is the man complaining?

22 years and you called him a boy?

Did you want him to be 44 years before he will marry?
Did he make the choice himself? or because he is living with sickle cell, they should just push him into an unhappy marriage?

You support the parents to upturn the young man's life and maybe cut short his dreams and happiness?
Do you even think marriage is a walk in the park? For how long will you support the parents to interfere in the guys marital life?
Is that 21 years old even prepared for marriage?
Before you reply, know this that I am SS and only son. I resisted any attempt by anyone to define my existence because of sickle cell.

This is what Ola Rotimi has to say "The gods are not to blame". I have the same problem some years ago, after much tests we were given clearance to go ahead with wedding later discovered in marriage that something had gone wrong. Sometimes you may not know whom to ask questions in life but God knows everything that surrounds us.
Some people have contacted me with similar tales. It's well.

Taking the following steps to stay healthy may help you avoid complications of sickle cell anemia:

Take folic acid supplements daily, and choose a healthy diet. Bone marrow needs folic acid and other vitamins to make new red blood cells.
Choose a diet that focuses on a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables, as well as whole grains.
Drink plenty of water. Dehydration can increase your risk of a sickle cell crisis.
Drink water throughout your day, aiming for about eight glasses a day.
Increase the amount of water you drink if you exercise or spend time in a hot, dry climate.
Avoid temperature extremes. Exposure to extreme heat or cold can increase your risk of a sickle cell crisis.
Exercise regularly, but don't overdo it.

....................... .......................... ............................
For the people that want to know if sickle cell be cured

Here is the answer : Bone marrow transplant, also known as stem cell transplant, offers the only potential cure for sickle cellanemia....
As a result, treatment for sickle cell anemia is usually aimed at avoiding crises, relieving symptoms and preventing complications.

............................... .................................. ...............................
The number and main important thing to note : AS should not get married to AS.
This has led to a lot of deaths in the country.
People should not let love blind them.
AS getting marry to another AS is not love but foolishness
You are well informed.

This is really nice, but how did you end up with the conclusion that Nigeria has the highest number of sickle cell carriers in the whole world?
If you are in doubt do a little google search. Almost every month, Nigeria birth at least 300,000 children with sickle cell disease. No thanks to some of the false genotype test results being churned out by the numerous medical laboratories all over the country.

Today June 19, has been set aside for the celebration of World Sickle cell day. But really is there anything to celebrate? What does Sickle cell really mean to the rest of the World? How many people, especially here in Nigeria know their genotypes? Even those who know their genotypes, how many really make a conscious effort to know more about genotype pairing for the sake of marriage and birthing children?
Even some of you educated and should know better, how many have created awareness of sickle cell disease just in their own corner of the world?
Currently Nigerian has the largest number of people living with sickle cell disease. And until we start making conscious effort to reduce this number through creating awareness we will still hold this unenviable title in years to come.

This man has been asking very dumb questions since yesterday or so.

The whole world knew about the militarisation of elections in SS and SE except him.
The recent EU report even highlighted it yet, this guy was asking why there was low turnout in Rivers and Delta.

Sen Ekwunife defeated Chief Umeh in 2015 only for the courts to later hand over victory to Chief Umeh on a plata of gold on the grounds
that the PDP primaries that produced Sen Ekwunife was not properly constituted. In 2019, Sen Ekwunife as usual smashed chief Umeh in the just concluded senatorial election yet, this ZOMBIE (yes, I just noticed he is a ZOMBIE) was asking how Ekwunife could defeat Chief Umeh

Now, it is about T.A Orji ...
For your information, TA Orji has always been winning comfortably. In 2015 he won with 20k votes scoring 65k against 45k for APGA.
In 2019 he widened the gap with over 25k scoring 55k against APC's 29k

Please, Oga ...
1) Which state are you from?

2) How much do you know about constituencies in other states that you keep poking a nose on?

3) Why ain't you ever surprised that Ganduje, Oyetola and Buhari won reelections?
You are conversant with Southeast politics.

lets tell the youths today that it not only awareness about
SCD but is the test being done ,because one can be aware about the disease and not still know his/her genotype
so let genotype test be made compulsory in every social institution starting from family to schools to offices.
what is the essence of dating for 5 years then both of you get to know you cant get married?
Great idea. It's not enough to know about sickle cell disease, getting to know about your genotype and encouraging others to get tested and know theirs should be the goal of creating awareness.

But today, I just need to go active because we still need to create awareness.
