Nairaland / General / I Will Leave Nigeria With My Family If Atiku Becomes President..... ACAD by abamiedaa: 11:09am On Jan 27, 2018
Ogun State House of Assembly aspirant Representing Sagamu State Constituency 1 in the coming 2019 general election, Prince Adejuwon Adeleye David had vow to use his last breath to campaign against the Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar in the coming election.

Adeleye otherwise known as ACAD also vowed to leave the country if Atiku Abubakar becomes the President.

Prince Adejuwon said this when receiving the acting executives of National Association of Nigerian Bloggers (NANB) as guest in his house at Sagamu, Ogun State, Nigeria recently.

He said Atiku is one of the most corrupt leaders we have in Nigeria, which makes former President Olusegun Obasanjo to campaign against him in 2007, 2011 and 2015 elections.

"Someone Chief Obasanjo opened his secrets and could not come out to defend himself, will that one become my President and I will be looking? A man full of corruption can never be a president in my own country.

"I was once a comrade, and I'm also an activist. I have led groups to so many protest in fighting for my people's right. I will use my last blood to campaign against Atiku to see he never emerged as president in this country.

"If possible he emerged, God forbid, the next action is to resign my appointment as member of the House of Assembly and leave the country with my family to another country."

He said he never knew he will later venture into politics, but when he is screaming try to correct the ills in the society because many Nigerians are just activist by mouth, saying "We shout, talk and scream, we do verything but we never make it happen."

Nairaland / General / Buhari Has Failed Woefully..........segun Sowunmi by abamiedaa: 10:15am On Jan 27, 2018
...Slams Tinubu, Fashola , Ogbe, others
...Says he didn't agree with OBJ on Coalition
A renowned human rights activist, Politician and public commentator, Segun Sowunmi has thrown his weight behind the recent “Special Statement” released to the public by the former Nigeria President, Chief (Dr.) Olusegun Obasanjo warning President Muhammadu Buhari against his re-election bid in 2019 and poor performance in office since May 29, 2015, saluting the uncommon courage of the former President to always speak the truth to the power that be in the landwithout entertaining hypocrisy.

He however called on Chief Obasanjo to use his connection in the international community to report the flaws of the present administration in Nigeria to the comity of nations in order to join hands together, to stop the re-election bid of President Buhari in 2019 for the sake of the Nigeria masses, urging Obasanjo not to forget to deliver his “Special Statement” to the African leaders in Addis Ababa,Ethiopia during the ongoing 30th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of States and Government of the African Union (AU). He also urge the ex president to exercise more patient with the People's Democratic Party instead of having hope in National Coalition after the failure of the All Progressive Congress APC as a party.

Segun Sowunmi, while commending Cheif Olusegun
Obasanjo for capturing the minds of Nigerians in the Special Statement, insisting that President Buhari led All Progressives Congress (APC) Federal Government has failed woefully in all areas of governance in the country, urging Buhari to heed the advice being given to him on 2019 Presidential re-election bid by Obasanjo.
Speaking on Obasanjo’s “Special Statement” on Friday, At a courtesy visitation of National Association of Nigerian Bloggers NANB in his house in Abeokuta, Ogun state, he saw itas a good and welcome development to checkmate them is governance of ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the country, condemning those who were abusing Obasanjo over the action and tagged them as enemies of Nigeria masses. He faulted Buhari led administration for failing to appoint young intellect to head ministries but rather choose aged Audu Ogbe among other ministers who are ill brains who have fresh brains and what it takes to serve their country.
According to him, “All the contents in the Dr. Olusegun Obasanjo’s Special Statement are the statement of facts. After using the Babatunde Fashola as a critical example with three different portfolios where we have brains.
How is Fashola qualified to hold Three different portfolios?
Because he is a lawyer? Or what? I seems not to understand this government blueprint anymore, a government which it's promises are too tremendous to be fulfilled, a government which was built on lies and propaganda.
A government which released the name of the death, sick and dying as it's board members two and half years in government and still take months to review same list, a government which met dollar at 160 and turned it to 370 to naira, is that a working government? Segun Sowunmi.
If Nigerians fail to stop President Buhari in 2019, President Buhari might stop the success, progress, development and future of Nigerians at home and abroad. It is will be an expression of cowardice if Asiwaju Bola Tinubu failed to be responsible for the death of every Yoruba's that dies in the hands of the deadly fulani herdsmen, bokoharam and others because he was the one that led southwest to vote massively for President Mohammed Buhari in 2015 election.

The public commentator who strongly condemned the grave injustice and nepotism of highest order that pervaded the present administration, advising Chief Obasanjo to stop supporting any incompetent personality like President Buhari as Presidential candidate in 2015 Polls

Nairaland / General / Plot Against Saraki Thickens by abamiedaa: 3:50pm On Jan 26, 2018
Strong indications emerged, yesterday, that plans to impeach Senate President, Bukola Saraki, have reached an advanced stage, with meetings held and key players named on the roles they are expected to play.
Investigations by reporters have, however, revealed that the move may fail, as lawmakers already contacted are yet to fully commit to the plot. Last week, Senator Isah Hamman Misau said at plenary that a minister is leading a move to impeach Saraki.
Misau said this when lawmakers condemned the spate of killings in Nigeria. He did not, however, name the minister involved. “When we were on holiday, so many people were going behind that they should try and remove the Senate President. During this holiday, it was a minister that was spearheading that thing. What is the reason?
“They said the senate president would leave APC and that they should create problems for him (Saraki). What kind of country is this? Everything is about religion and about tribe.

Nairaland / General / Senate’s Embargo On Buhari Appointees Remains, Says Saraki by abamiedaa: 2:20pm On Jan 25, 2018
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has stated that the upper chamber of the National Assembly has not lifted the embargo on the confirmation of appointments made by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Saraki had read a letter from the President seeking the Senate’s approval for the 2017 budget estimates of the Niger Delta Development Commission.
Lawmaker representing Imo North Senatorial District, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, however, raised a point of order to remind the lawmakers that three states had no representation on the board of the NDDC, which he blamed on the suspension of confirmation of nominees.
Ohuabunwa pointed out that the NDDC Act clearly stated the composition of the board to include representatives from Abia,Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Imo, Ondo and Rivers states, with three persons to represent non-oilproducing states provided that such membership was drawn
from the same geo-political zone which are not represented in
the commission.

Nairaland / General / NASU Vows To Continue Strike Over N9bn Arrears by abamiedaa: 7:25am On Jan 25, 2018
The Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) has vowed that it would not suspend the on-going strike action until the N9billion arrears owed the workers is settled by the federal government. The ongoing strike action in the research and development institutions across the country has led to a shutdown of the sector for over a month.

The general secretary of the union, Peters Adeyemi, who disclosed this in Abuja yesterday, said the union is considering staging a protest at the National Assembly to pressure the federal government to meet their demands. Adeyemi blamed the current strike action in research institutes on the non-implementation of the 2010 agreement by the federal government. He said: “The non-implementation of the agreement we reached with the federal government in 2010 is the reason we decided to go into this action. It has gotten to a stage where we have to take our collective destinies in our own hands. It is unfortunate that we are in a country where the government is paying lip service to research and development. Developed economies of the world focus more on research for economic breakthroughs because there is no country that can develop without research. Therefore, our research institutes will be shut down until our demands are fully met.
