Sanwo-Olu is yet to visit the owner of Lagos, to celebrate his INEC re-selection victory.
Baba has not congratulated him, neither has he been seen or heard since Saturday, despite the ethnic tension in Lagos state.

Is this how Nigerians will be under suspense through out his administration, this is appalling.
This is actually right. For a person who is willing to run an inclusive and sensitive government, he supposed to have said something not keeping us in the dark of 'where is our president elect'?

Actor, Yomi Fabiyi highlights unfinished Baba Ijesha business

Baba Ijesha

Actor and convener, Break The Silence Foundation, a registered human rights NGO, Yomi Fabiyi has raised some questions and provided new insights to the child molestation case against fellow actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, aka Baba Ijesha, who bagged 16 years imprisonment for the crime.

According to the actor, Princess, the foster mother of the victim, Iyabo Ojo, Toun and the NGOs who stood against Baba Ijesha have not done total justice to the case as they have been selective and particularly vindictive towards Baba Ijesha.

Fabiyi stated that there were others involved in the violation of the victim aside Baba Ijesha, noting that justice could not be presumed to have been done if they are walking free in the society.

“They should equally demand vehemently the trial and prosecution of Damola Adekola whose sperm was found on the girl, days after Baba Ijesha’s arrest. Also Princess House Security with the alias “OKELE”. They are the ones the girl accused of having multiple s*x with her?” he writes on his Instagram page.

“Damola Adekola was arrested, investigated and confessed to the crime but was suddenly removed from the case and none of these women demanded justice or mentioned it to innocent people online. If truly the victim was 14 years, that is a peadophile on the loose and aided. Do you people have conscience at all? Who is after Baba Ijesha? Iyabo Ojo claimed there are some paedophiles in her family, @policeng_lagos please reach out to her if you haven’t, see the best you can make out of that information please.

“Princess confirmed in court that she knew that these duo (Damola Adekola & Security man) had sexually harassed the girl a year before Baba Ijesha’s incident but did not tell the Police,” he added.

The actor concluded that we should expect Part 2 of the case, asserting that unfair trialis human rights violation.

Politics / Re: Tribalism Hidden In Foundations Of Our Country Have Come Out - Bolanle Olukanni by Abass07(m): 3:49pm On Mar 19, 2023
lhordspy:
Some people still dont get this. Maybe because they are very new to Nigeria politics or first time voters.

During the Presidential campaign. The candidate of the Labour party, Peter Obi exploited and explored our diversity, he capitalised on our religious differences in particular to instigate hate among the the two major religion we have in Nigeria. CAN, PFN turned themselves into a political group. Especially General overseers, they turned the altar into a political stage to preach politics and propagate hate against Muslim candidates.

Peter Obi's victory in Lagos during the presidential election wasn't just from the igbos alone but from 'some' brain clouded, emotional religious sentimental yoruba christ!ans who were sold with the Jihad bullcraps. After the victory, instead of building bridges, extending hand of friendship with the yourbas that voted against Obi, making them reason by drawing them closer and also at sametime solidifying the alliances with yorubas on their side already, that voted for obi. The southe@sterners, feeling pompous and inflated came with the campaign of 'taking over lagos' . .. They ran twitter spaces, host interviews aided by their propaganda media house, AriseTV, scribbles and tweets were churned out about how they will sack all the obas and takeover the whole place.

How can you expect the yorubas who sided with you against their tribesman, Tinubu in the presidential election to feel about it? Happy that you want to takeover their ancestral land and mock them with it in return, just like you use the word; 'Afonja ' consistently to make mockery of our loss in Ilorin.

Sanwo Olu victory was not as a result of tribalism. The yorubas fought together as one again, and they won. Different yorubas from different religion, political parties, and across all board left our differences asides at the corner, came together to 'rescue ourselves'. (once bitten, twice shy)

At first it was cruise, then it became aggressive, now it is uncontrollable.. Cant even be tamed nor can they reason well. It is all noise, zero thinking and strategy. The Obidient movement is turning out to be a curse to Peter Obi and the hardworking innocent igbos who committed no crime but paying for the sins of the headless mob.
This is the best write-up I've read in a long time. You captured everything since the beginning of the presidential election. This is exactly my thought

Travel / Emirates: Why Flight Operations To Nigeria Remain Suspended by Abass07(m): 5:58am On Mar 19, 2023
Emirates Airline says a substantial balance of its revenue trapped in Nigeria is yet to be repatriated.

The airline, in a statement on Friday, called for a ‘committed strategy’ by the federal government to enable foreign airlines operating in the country repatriate their funds.

In November last year, Emirates suspended flights operations to Nigeria over its inability to repatriate its $85 million revenue trapped in the country.

The suspension was the second time the airline halted flights to the West African country over its unrepatriated funds — the first time was in August, 2022.

Providing updates on the matter, the aviation company said it has been five months since operations to and from Nigeria were suspended, “and during this time we have seen little progress in the clearing of our backlog of funds”.

It said 50 percent of the funds approved for clearing in its backlog is still overdue for repatriation. This is despite the $265 million the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) released to airlines operating in the country to settle outstanding ticket sales.

“As of today, Emirates still has a substantial balance of blocked funds that have yet to be repatriated, and the progressive clearing [of] our backlog remains beset with constant delays,” the statement reads.

“Today, around 50 percent of the amount approved for clearing within our backlog is still overdue for repatriation.

“We have made many concerted efforts to enable a swift return to Nigeria. We had proposed a number of solutions and measures to recover our funds, and engaged in dialogue with government stakeholders and industry bodies.

“Regretfully and despite many media reports of public assurances made at the highest levels, solutions continue to be stalled.

“We acknowledge that the wider aviation industry and the local value chain it supports in Nigeria face a similar market reality. However, unless there is a committed strategy by the local authorities to deliver concrete action, air services for travellers, for businesses seeking global market opportunities and for investments – all supported through air transport and critical to Nigeria’s economic recovery — will continue to dwindle.

“We remain committed to finding a mutual resolution with the Nigerian government and Central Bank to repatriate the rest of our blocked funds in a swift manner, and provide a roadmap that includes firm measures to prevent future repatriation accumulation challenges and delays. We call on them to work with us, hand in hand, to ensure Nigerian travellers and businesses have unfettered connectivity and access to our global network.”
