9. Bukatyne *Was she being mentored by Salt and Light ?* Covid came like bitter leaf to the taste buds, a pandemic had hit, it has brought even the greats from the west to its knees...and just when we were beginning to fantasize we're in a safe clime, the virus stared us in the eye, it had flown down from Wuhan in winged planes. I've not been so much of the stay home type, but u see this pandemic-ordered compulsory holiday? I had no choice. Just when I began to think perhaps I'll cope with this 'new normal', boredom weighed in like a log on the chest of an exhausted human. Ah, fada lord ' e sànu wä ' (have mercy on us) I muttered rolling from one end of the bed to another and taking a big, wide yawn met with a tired stretch and my hands falling down from the stretch like a piece of rock let off the mountain top and landing on my bare laps like a premeditated spank. Ah, 'ebi ti de' (hunger has come) I said with a teary-eyed tired face from the yawn. Boring days turned weeks and with the rising number of active cases, I sure knew this compulsory 'holiday' ain't ending soon. I have to find a 'companion' I said to myself ; something of value yet fun - social media could do, but what content I meditated and just like a twist of fate, I saw a page on Godly relationships. A friend had shared it on her timeline and it sure caught my interest. I read an article there titled 'confessions of a good man', it was inspiring and thought provoking. It portrayed a spirit filled husband ,and how he's the shield and strength of his wife. As I read through, I started fantasizing about having such a man as the one with whom to do forever and before long I had engaged in effectual fervent prayers to God, stating my heart desires for such a husband man. I continued following the page and watching out for new articles like a little school girl awaiting mummy to pick her up. It was such an anticipation! I read lots of articles and followed the 'good man' behind the wonderful write ups and articles on the page. He was single too, and engaged to a 'good woman' who also wrote follow up articles on her 'confessions of a good woman'. They really opened my eyes to what a Godly relationship should be. The 'good man' called himself 'Salt' and the 'good woman' called herself 'Light'. This salt ain't Sodium chloride and this light ain't emitted from Edison's bulbs. Salt meeting light would sure be wonderful right? The salt of the earth (sweetness) and the light of the world (brightness), combo perfecto! I have always been convicted about godly relationships, where there's no place given to the devil and his activities , but u see these salt and light? They've made my conviction stronger and elevated to a higher pedestal. I take them as mentors! Prior to this time, I've been writing on Godly relationships within the confines of my limited understanding but I've gained more knowledge now and this have helped in my writing, articles and letters of advice and admonishment to intending Godly couples and already married couples alike and the testimonies continue to abound! Can I hear a resounding HALLELUJAH? For bukatyne (9), buka9 for short... Lol, uniben food court hear am dat year. I hope she likes this. CC Bukatyne 1 Like |

ademmy102: In PEJ's voice... wee u keep kwayet? U can't just bring ur chest in our faces and say things about this recruitment process just because of general impressions u have. Keep it to urself nitoriolorun. Afterall, most of us got this far in the process cos it has been fair, and I personally believe a greater proportion of the final 'APLists' would get the smile erupting letter based on fairness. So negative vibe, stay away! 7 Likes |
